Blues Win In Shootout Eric Nelson - 12/9/2008 The Madison Blues have played the Mosinee Papermakers really close over the last few years , but have never beat them in league play. Friday night they made history in real fashion by winning in a shoot out. The game was knotted at 5 apiece at the end of regulation. The 5 minute overtime period had the Blue dominating play, but great goalie work by Mosinee kept the game tied after the O.T. Whats next? A shoot out of course. Both teams were given 5 skaters to shoot ,and the most goals would win. Cam Nelson got the scoring started for the Blues and they went up 1-0. Blues goalie Alex Westcott then stuffed th next 3 out of 4 paper makers shots, and with the Blues goal from Nate Lawrence the win went to our Blues 7-6. Great Job from the entire Team in this win!!!! |
