Tragic number down to one
Team Cy Young front runner Jesse Sarabia (left) and Team MVP front runner Cris DeLeon (right) have entertained many by putting up great numbers but next week will most likely be their final performances of the season. One more loss will end all playoff hopes for the Bulls. Even if the Bulls sweep the Beers next week in their season finale, they will still need help getting in.

Ending like a cheesy horror movie
With Peligro currently holding the final playoff spot, the Bulls, Beers and Giants will all have their eyes on the D-backs and Peligro game this weekend hoping for a sweep. The D-backs and Peligro have the same manager which may lead some to believe the teams will purposely split their doubleheader. Will there be a corny ending to this season like some cheesy teen horror movie?

Bulls sweep Prospects to stay in race
The Downtown Bulls have every reason to clap after pulling off a sweep of the Prospects. The sweep keeps the Bulls in playoff contention and improves their record to .500 for the season. The Bulls have four games remaining, two against the Cubs and two crucial make-up games against the Beers.

Bronx/Manhattan wins All-Star Game 4-1
Brooklyn/Queens picked up an early run but Bronx/Manhattan quickly tied things up and never looked back from there. They would add three more runs highlighted by New York Tigers third baseman and All-Star Game MVP Jovany Garcia's game changing hit. Downtown Bulls closer Hank DeLeon picked up the win and New York Diamondbacks pitcher Rudy Perez picked up the save by striking out three out of the four batters he faced in the ninth.

The Downtown Bulls will send three players to the 2009 All-Star Game, Cris DeLeon (left), Hank DeLeon (center) and Ramon Mojica (right). Joseph Andali fell just one vote short to the opposing pitcher in Andali's no-hitter. The All-Star festivities will begin at 12 noon on July 11 at Richmond County Ballpark, home of the Staten Island Yankees. The

Andali throws no-hitter, Bulls sweep
Joseph Andali pitched the first no-hitter in the history of the Downtown Bulls and didn't even know it until after the final out was recorded in game one against the Athletics. His main concern was getting a win for his team and Joseph went far beyond the call of duty. To top things off the Bulls completed the sweep of the Athletics with a walk off single courtesy of newly acquired Rob Wolf in game two.

Fans still cheer on despite record
For the second week in a row, the Bulls fail to win a game. Going winless in four games might have ended their chances of making the playoffs. However, Bulls fans are still buying tickets despite the teams sub-par performance. July 4th will be fan appreciation day at Roberto Clemente State Park. The first 379,000 fans will receive a free six pack of Coors Light and tons of illegal fireworks courtesy of David and Edith Morillo.

Still alive
Despite losing big in game two, the Bulls avoid a sweep by tying with the Express in game one. The tie keeps the Bulls within striking distance of the final playoff spot. The Bulls now find themselves 3.5 games out of the playoffs with 13 games left (this includes two make-up games against the Beers).

Bulls avoid sweep
One sweep could possibly end all playoff hopes for the Bulls. They found themselves in another tough predicament against the Skyscrapers after putting up only two hits in game one. Eleven runs in game two was enough to once again avoid a sweep. The Bulls look to turn things around against the Express on Saturday.

Split keeps Bulls in race
The Bulls managed to avoid a sweep yet again. After committing six errors and losing big in game one, Joe Andali came to the rescue in game two holding the Beers to just two runs on five hits while striking out six in 4.2 innings. Hank De Leon picked up a one out save to go with his 5 for 6 performance at the plate. Cris De Leon finished the day with five RBI, one homer and a triple.

Round two
With just about half of the season complete, the Bulls find themselves two games out of the playoffs. This weekend will determine if Manager David Morillo will have to get on the phone with some agents and pull some strings. Stay tuned for more here on the official site of the Downtown Bulls. We'll be back right after this.

Baseball concentration camp discovered
A shocking image was released early this morning of baseball players being tortured at a baseball concentration camp. Sources report that Downtown Bulls General Manager David Poli and Manager David Morillo are the evil minds behind this operation. The two have reportedly been fed up with the lack of production and are willing to do whatever it takes to win. More on this as it develops.

.400 club headed to Atlantic City
There are no games scheduled for the Downtown Bulls this Memorial Day weekend. Many of the players, including the .400 club (players with a batting average of .400 or higher), will be participating in the Atlantic City Tournament which is held annually during Memorial Day weekend. The Bulls are currently on a two game winning streak and will resume play on May 31 against the New York Beers.

Bulls rally, score 15 in seventh
Down 8-4 in the seventh inning, the Bulls put up 15 runs capped off by Hank De Leon's walk off home run, his second home run in two days. The game was called because of the 10-run mercy rule. The sold out capacity crowd went into a frenzy causing the ground to literally shake out of control and making it impossible for photographers to get a clear picture as seen above.

Hank the Tank helps end streak
A blown call by the home plate umpire on a ground ball clearly foul down the third base line allowed the Cubs to rally back and take game one. Game two featured Hank De Leon's first home run and first save of the season on the day he received his new jersey as seen above. The win snapped a three game losing streak heading into Monday night's game against the Rebels.

Minor setback
Unlike last week, the Bulls could not avoid a sweep this week. However, the Bulls are all smiles especially after the first ever steal of first courtesy of Jared Shepard. Despite the lack of hitting, they know this is nothing more than a minor setback. Let's not push the panic button there's still plenty of baseball left.

One hit debut
For years Jesse Sarabia dreamed of pitching for the Downtown Bulls at Taft High School at around 9:02 PM against the New York Express in 61 degree weather. On May 2, 2009 Sarabia's dream came true. In his starting pitching debut, Jesse Sarabia took a no-hitter into the final inning when the leadoff hitter (the first ever swine flu survivor to walk on Mars) poked a weakly hit ground ball through the right side of the infield. The 83,742 in attendance rose to their feet in appreciation of Sarabia'

Bulls lose. In other news, Brett Klasko (seen above) is officially certified and will no longer be in the starting pitching rotation as a result (the real reason is due to pain in his throwing arm but this sounds a whole lot better). Jessie Sarabia will now be the number two starter. Next up for the Bulls are the New York Express.

Bulls sweep Too Hot
With a tough schedule ahead, which includes the Marlins, Express and Skyscrapers, the Bulls had very little margin for error on Sunday. The offense stepped up big putting up 27 runs and 25 hits in a sweep of Too Hot. It was the Bulls first sweep of the 2009 campaign. Ramon Mojica, Cris De Leon and Brett Klasko are now undefeated with their new jerseys as seen above.

Rivera headed to DL
The Downtown Bulls placed Mike Rivera on the 15 day DL early Friday morning due to a hyperextended elbow. Rivera did not comment on how it occurred, but a certain fluid seen in the x ray (and some hardcore DVD's found under his bed) provided sufficient evidence of what really went down.

Locked out
Both the Bulls and the Beers were present. Both umpires were present. The key to the lock on the fence however was nowhere to be found. Neither team set foot on the Lehman High School turf. Somebody f*cked up. More on this as it develops.

Bulls split battle at Lehman
After falling behind in the late innings, the Bulls managed to pull off the victory in game one thanks to Ramon Mojica's walk-off walk. Jay Chrzanowski pitched a complete game to pick up the opening day win. The Bulls fell short in game two despite 13 hits, which featured a perfect 4-4 day by Andrew Wagner and a 3 RBI performance by Cris De Leon.

Opening day 2009
SP Jay Chrzanowski will start game one on opening day for the Downtown Bulls as they look for their first winning season. The Bulls have continued to make progress since their inaugural season in 2007 where they finished 12-21. Last year they finished 14-14-2 and made the playoffs. Many critics believe the pattern will not continue in 2009.

Pre season over
With all starting pitchers hibernating, SS Joe Andali stepped up and pitched eight strong innings to help the Bulls win their final pre season game of 2009. Clutch hits from Ramon Mojica, Cris De Leon and Ben Kaufman, capped off a four run ninth inning to secure the victory. (Some believe the game ended in a tie, but we'll just ignore that.) The Bulls finish the pre season 3-1-1.

Rally restricted
The Bulls fell one run short losing 7-6 in five innings to the New York Storm after battling back in the "late innings". They were unable to go past the fifth inning due to some intruders from another league. It was their first pre season loss since March 30, 2008. The Bulls are now 7-2-1 all-time during pre season play.

Slugfest ends in tie
12 innings was not enough as the Bulls and Prospects finished in a 10 - 10 tie. The Bulls trailed 10 - 4 in the late innings when the bats woke up after many players left to brunch. Hank De Leon made his Downtown Bulls debut with his old ass number nine shirt and pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the 12th.

Bulls win their second game of the spring. Mike Rivera's bases loaded triple and Cris De Leon's blast over the soccer players in right-center field helped the Bulls seal the deal. Fermin "Robocock" Bueno had two amazing sacrifice bunts, which many believe was the difference in the game. Hats off!

Private Pellowski
The man is a soldier. He feels no pain. When asked, "do you feel pain?" he replied "hell yeah". Correction, he feels pain. However, that will not stop him from playing Downtown Bulls baseball. We dug deep into the archive and found visual evidence of the frequent injuries to his right hand. Use the left Matt Pellowski. Use the left.

Bulls win...well, maybe, depends on the preseason rules. After 8 1/2 innings the visiting Bulls had an 8-6 lead over the Warriors. One thing is clear however, these men are not afraid of Mother Nature. The game time temperature was 30 degrees forcing many to play in sweaters and jackets. Special thanks out to the umpires who volunteered their services and hung in there till the end.

And they're off
The first game of 2009 is scheduled for this weekend. It features the return of 3B Matt Pellowski who has been sidelined with a broken hand since the end of 2008. It also gives GM David Poli and manager David Morillo a chance to see more of the nation's top prospects of SP Brett Klasko, C Ramon Mojica and 1B Cris De Leon.

More insane signings
Mike Rivera has surpassed Jared Shepard’s 31-year deal by signing with the Bulls for the next 100 years according to a source with knowledge of the situation. It’s safe to say Rivera will expire before his contract. “This is f*cking ridiculous,” Bulls manager David Morillo said.

An anonymous source hinted late Saturday evening that Jared Shepard signed with the Downtown Bulls until the year 2040. Not only will his age become a factor, the low quality paper used for the contract will also become an issue 20 years from now.

Cris De Leon and Hank De Leon, also known as the Bash Cousins, have been called up from AAA Downtown Tigers. The two have played together for five years straight. A streak that began in Long Island with the Roughriders, followed by the Brewers and Tigers, will now continue with the Downtown Bulls.
