4/26/2009Cubs Defeat Division Leaders
The plucky Cubs defeated the divisional leaders - the New York Express - in Game 2 of last nights double header. With a strong pitching performance from Sean Merrium and 15 hits the Cubs ended up being too strong for the more favored Express. Catcher Vinnie Amelio being the best of the Cubs hitters getting 4 hits for the game.

The Cubs are now 2-3 and go in to next weeks games with rivals The Beers as slight underdogs in what is surely going to be a hotly contested game..
4/7/2009Cubs split games with the Giants
Mired with awful weather and the last morning game we will ever play (ever) the Cubs split with the Giants, winning the first game in dramatic fashion on a walk off error from the bat of Justin Neal.
In other news, Mike N "won" a race with Mursko to claim title of Slowest Man on the Cubs. To any and all would be challengers, Mike is ready to race at all times.

This Saturday, we have our next pre-season scrimmage against the Brooklyn Rays starting at 10 am at St. Mary’s Park in the Bronx. Please let a manager know if you can be there and try to arrive at 9am so there’s time to warm up and get organized. We’re going to go with our regular season attendance policy where you should be there by 9:15 to play.

We’re also hoping to participate in the NYCMBL Marathon Game on Sunday. Details are still being ironed out on that. If you participate, you must bring $10 as this game goes to benefit the league’s scholarship fund. More details to follow soon...
