Charleston Wolverines Junior Hockey Club Rules & Policies
Education:
Players are expected to be either in high school, taking some college courses or working part-time in order to participate in our program.
Drug and Alcohol Free Hockey:
The Charleston Wolverines Junior Hockey Club (Junior Wolverines) is a drug free organization and will make a good faith effort to keep it that way. We will have in place a Drug and Alcohol policy which requires any player to be subject to random drug testing at the club's discretion. Reporting to any club practice, workout, game, function, or event under the influence of any drug, alcoholic beverage, intoxicant, narcotic, or other substance (including legally prescribed drugs and medicines) which will in any way adversely affect your ability, alertness, coordination, response, or adversely affect the safety of other players is strictly prohibited.
Legally prescribed drugs may be permitted at any team practice, workout, game, function, or event provided the drug is contained in the original prescription container and are prescribed by an authorized medical practitioner for the current use of the person in possession. Any person in possession of a valid prescription drug at any team practice, workout, game, function, or event may be required to complete a prescription drug form and the club may, as it deems appropriate, determine if the drug produces hazardous effects.
The purpose of the policy is to help insure the safety and welfare of all the members of the Junior Wolverines.
Release Policy:
No player transferring/quitting to go to another team or club shall be given a release unless all financial obligations, as enumerated herein, are met and any financial complementation between clubs, as required by USA Hockey policies, has been paid. Any player released by the team will have his fee refunded on a pro-rated scale under the discretion of the Junior Wolverines. A player who breaks the team rules or polices can be released without any pro-rated compensation.

PLAYERS' CODE OF CONDUCT
The following Code of Conduct is considered part of the Player Agreement or Contract. When you agree to its terms and conditions, you attest that you agree to abide by these rules and understand the team policies.
•Use or being under the influence of alcohol or other controlled substances is PROHIBITED at any team activity, including games, practices, locker rooms, hotels, travel, parking lots, etc. Use of tobacco (smoking or chewing) is PROHIBITED during games in locker rooms, and at all team activities at all times. Violators will be fined and/or suspended from the team.
•Abide by the player dress code noted above.
•Ice time is valuable. Lateness to games or practices will NOT be tolerated and will cost you ice time (games) or extra "conditioning" (practices).
•Locker rooms are to be left as they are found. Players are to clean up after themselves. Assessments will be made to those responsible for any damage.
•Players are responsible to have full, proper, and legal equipment at all games and practices if they are to participate (including approved helmet, full approved face mask, and attached, opaque mouth-guard). Players will be issued one set of home and away game jerseys, covers (shells), socks, bags, and a practice jersey. It is the player's responsibility to keep these clean and in good repair throughout the season. The covers (shells), jerseys, and team bags that are issued will remain the property of the Junior Wolverines, and will have to be returned at the end of the season. Players unable to return the required items will be charged for them. Players who fail to have the complete, correct uniform with them at any game or practice will be fined and/or prohibited from participating. Game socks and covers should NEVER be worn at any practices or other non-game on-ice events.
•When staying in hotels, players are to sleep in their assigned rooms only and strictly obey all quiet times, curfews, and wake-up times. "Quiet Time" is defined as all players being in rooms occupied by the team (not in the lobby, or elsewhere in the hotel), with the doors ajar, and no activity in the hallways. "Curfew" is defined as all players being in their own assigned rooms with the doors closed. There are no exceptions. Players may never leave the hotel grounds without the permission of one of the team staff, nor may players ever enter any bar or club where alcohol is being served. Violations may result in fine, suspension, or being sent home immediately from the event.
•Pay TV and in-room movies will be available on a C.O.D. basis only. Players must pay in advance at the desk for these services to be turned on. The front desk will be notified that NO X-rated movies will be allowed in team rooms, so don't bother to ask.
•Hotel switchboard operators will be instructed that no long distance outgoing phone calls are to be allowed from player rooms. For parents wishing to speak to their sons, an itinerary will be provided for each trip listing the hotel phone number. Outgoing calls will have to be made from the lobby or paid for in advance.
•Any damage to buses, hotels, or dressing rooms will be paid for by the offending player(s). If no specific player(s) can be identified, the cost of the damage will be shared by all team members on the trip or assessed to the assigned occupants of the damaged room.
•No non-team personnel (including parents, guests, etc.) are allowed in players' rooms at any time.
•Rude, unsportsmanlike behavior, or being in any way disrespectful toward coaches, teammates, officials, opponents, or fans, whether on or off the ice, will not be tolerated at any time. Players may not be involved in altercations, arguments, or inappropriate gesturing of any kind either on or off the ice.
•If, at any time, you have a problem or disagreement with the hotel, bus driver, officials, opponents, etc., please inform one of the team staff. Do not try to solve it yourself.
•When you make a commitment to this team, you agree to attend, to the best of your ability, all games, practices, and team functions. Chronic lack of attendance, or failure to inform us in advance of any conflict or problem may lead to fines, suspension, or withdrawal from the team.
•Any other serious misbehavior during any team function or while representing the Junior Wolverines (such as theft, resisting authority, repeated verbal or physical altercations with teammates or others, etc.) will be dealt with most seriously and could necessitate withdrawal from the program.
•ARRIVAL TIMES-- Players are required to arrive for team events according to the following schedule:
