Dragons Recognize Players at 2009 Banquet 6/1/2009 The hard work of Vicki and Steve Puckett culminated in the 2009 Dragons Boys Soccer Banquet at Collierville Christian Church. The parents of Senior Brad Puckett spearheaded and produced the event in addition to running the concessions this year.
Players, parents and coaches enjoyed dinner before the traditional gift presentation. Here captains handed out funny and creative gag gifts to their teammates. The Booster club and parent volunteers were recognized and Coach Mears presented Coach Easterwood with a plaque commemorating his first win as head coach. Attendees viewed a dvd slideshow of the players and season.
The highlight of the evening were the player and coaches' awards. The 2009 receipients honored were:

RECAPThe Dragons ended the regular season 9-5-2. Offensive MVP Dillon Thornbury lead the team in scoring and assists with 7 of the teams' 37 goals and 5 of the teams's 22 assists. Defensive MVP Kevin Hensley and Most Improved Player, Neil Tate helped the defense record 5 shut-outs. GK Tate had 33 saves on the season. The Junior Varsity went 8-2-3 with Offensive MVP Cade Peeper leading all scoring with 6 goals and 4 assists. The defense lead by Defensive MVP Mitchell Lindsey and GK Kirby Smith allowed only 7 goals on the season.  |
