In Appreciation of Coach Ken Mears

In the Spring of 2009 Coach Ken Mears stepped down from his Head Coaching role of the Dragons Varsity Boys Squad.  Justin Easterwood was named the new Dragson Varsity Coach.  Coach Ken continued as the JV squad HC and lead them to a 8-2-3 record in 2009.  Coach Ken will continue to serve to help out on the Lady Dragons squads and help manage scheduling and field maintenance.

On April 4, 2009 the 2009 Dragons and players from the past honored Coach Ken at a special halftime ceremony at CHS Field. Lady Dragons Coach, Bill Gillespie and Ken's mother were featured speakers. Boy's Booster Club President, Ross McAllsiter read off a bio and lengthy list of Coach Ken's accomplishments.

Coach Mears was presented with a plaque of appreciation commemorating his years of service to CHS and the Dragon Soccer Program. A permanent plaque is planned for the concession stand at CHS Field.
