FRONTLINE HEROES

Leadership Training

Are you looking for an exciting boost to your training program?  Are you ready to give your team a day-long learning experience that educates and motivates?  Forget tired lectures, stale curriculum and plastic notebooks – The Summit Team brings another level of excellence to leadership training that will reset the bar for building strong teams and confident leaders.

In today’s challenging workplace – there are no sidelines, no one sits the bench.  Your entire team is either engaged on the frontlines of your workplace or you lose ground.  That’s where one of The Summit Team’s most successful professional development programs – Frontline Heroes – can make a difference.  Drawn from a proven program that taught to more than 1,500 leaders across 7 states with more than a 96% approval rating, this updated initiative is an investment in your team that builds success from the inside-out.

The secret to our success with Frontline Heroes is that we are not leadership trainers – we are leaders who train.  There is a difference.  We were in leadership positions, making critical decisions, building diverse teams and driving high performance results before we ever stepped into a classroom.  This real-world credibility is a competitive advantage over other “training companies”.

Our one-of-a-kind curriculum teaches classic leadership concepts in a fresh, dynamic presentation filled with relevant learning and interactive out-of-the-seat activity.  The program respects people’s abilities while challenging them to sharpen key skills.  It respects people’s time by offering the training in a one-day format with a small class size.  It provides excellent program materials, including 3 books that serve to extend the learning back on the job.  Finally, since there is a personalized focus to the curriculum, it offers an individualized learning opportunity that participants don’t normally receive in group training but that they greatly value.

We’ve updated Frontline Heroes with new resources and expanded areas of learning.  It’s even better than the original and we’d like to bring it to your organization.  Contact us today (info@summit-team.com) for pricing and scheduling.

830-930                         Project Looking Glass

(takeaway:  Personalized written report on personality and learning style)

This powerful learning opportunity gives participants information on their unique personality (Jung-based) and learning preferences (auditory, visual, tactual, kinesthetic).  Prior to training, participants complete and return 2 self-assessments whose results are compiled and a personalized report prepared.  At the training, each person receives their individual results and report as the facilitator shares the insights and meaning of the assessments.  Extremely valuable tool for self-development.

945-1100                      Lead Like a Pirate!

(takeaway:  Book:  Lead Like a Pirate, Novak, Cornerstone Leadership, 2007)

One of our best training modules ever, this themed-learning experience uses the backdrop of tall tales and tall ships to teach effective team leadership skills.  Participants discuss important topics such as diversity, communication, delegation and problem-solving in the context of buccaneers before applying those insights to their own workplace with a Captain’s Log.  The segment ends with a rousing, out-of-the-seat activity that has “crews” scrambling to solve problems, build treasure maps and beat the competition.  This is learning at its best – practical and fun.

1115-1200                  4 Circles of Good Business

(takeaway:  Book:  4 Circles of Good Business, Novak, Core Concepts, 2006)

Close the morning with a serious look at what drives good business decisions.  This segment introduces participants to four concepts that are critical to making sound business judgments – capital & finance, products & services, operations & management, and governance.  The necessity of meeting the needs of the organization’s primary stakeholders and responding to critical business objectives are examined.  The goal is to expose frontline leaders to the factors that drive good business.

1230-1330         Insights to Better Coaching

Frontline leaders are often called upon to be recruiters, trainers, evaluators and most importantly, coaches.  The difference between a team that is struggling and a team that is excelling is often the quality of coaching they receive from their frontline leaders.  But how do we become better coaches?  What makes a good coach?  These are questions that are answered in a curriculum that uses popular movies to illustrate key coaching concepts.  Small group discussion and interaction bring the lessons back to the workplace while a fast-paced, competitive out-of-the-seat activity closes this module.

1345-1500                  Conquering Adversity

(takeaway:   Book:  Conquering Adversity, Novak, Cornerstone Leadership, 2004)

We close the day-long training session with one of the most inspiring messages participants are likely to ever hear.  This is the 75-minute keynote-length presentation that has become my signature offering for thousands of people at conferences, training days and special events across the country.  It is a gripping, true-life oratory that speaks to the hero inside each of us and gives participants six strategies they can apply in their professional (and personal) lives – affirmation, expectation, communication, locomotion, collaboration, celebration.  “Conquering Adversity” will leave the group inspired, motivated and ready to succeed.
