9/4/08 DCHS vs Florence High School
The Eagles flew through another swim meet against Florence on Tuesday.  Florence is a new swim team but did well against the seasoned DCHS team.

The men had a commanding presence as they beat Florence 117 - 48.  The Desert Men won every event except one and even in that event, the killer 500 Free, Ryan was in turbo mode taking more than 20 seconds off his previous personal best.  The men went 1-2-3 in the 100 Freestyle with Jordan (57.82), Johnathan (1:00.10) and James (1:10.42) taking the event.  Johnathan (26.89), Michael (27.54) and Dominic (28.35) completed the next 1-2-3 in the 50 free.  New members Steven and Daniel also ran up points for Desert in their events.

The Lady Eagles also soared to new heights as they triumphed 116 - 43.  The Desert ladies went 1-2-3 in the 200 Freestyle with Haily (2:35.35), Kaila (2:44.10) and Sarah Gr. (2:50.42) taking the event.  Hannah (27.88), Chloe (35.40) and Elaina (40.22) completed the second 1-2-3 in the 50 free.  The women also won every event except one, the 100 backstroke, and there were 10 personal bests acheived at this meet.

9/4/08 DCHS vs Tanque Verde High/Surrey Garden Christian

Desert starts their season off right with a win at their first tri-meet against Tanque Verde High and Surrey Garden Christian.  The team celebrated at Little Anthony's after the meet. 

The Lady Eagles took the lead early with strong entries for each of the three relays.  The A and B relays together tallied a total of 70 of the total 160 points that Desert earned today.  New team members Kaitlyn and Kalyn scored points in their first meet to support their more seasoned teammates who flew through one event after another. DCHS 160, SG 51, TV 39  

The Men also snagged their first victory as they passed their competitors with an impressive 50+ point lead at the last touch.  Newcomer Garrett (200 free 2:27.45) joined Johnathon (50 free 26.31) and Jordan100 Breast 1:10.59 and 200 IM 2:25.78) in the winners circle in his first DCHS swim.  The men's relay racked up the points as well scoring 70 points of their 149.

DCHS Sends the Whole Team to the 2007 1-3A State Championships! 

  

The whole team went to State Championships this year with 25 team members making it into the finals in their events. (Jordan B, Kaila, Rachael, Halie, Daniel, Jack, Hannah, Nathan, Lesley, Lanae, Ben, Henning, Kelsey, Beth, Maryssa, Jordan P, Jessie, Jon, Justin, Austin, Emily, Graydon, Allie, Mandi and Makenna.)



Desert Christian's Relay teams came home having successfully reached the winners podium 5 times in 6 events.  The Men's 200 Medley Relay (Graydon, Jordan B., Daniel and Henning)took 4th, the Girl's 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay team of Maryssa, Makenna, Lesley and Hannah took 3rd in both of their events.  The Men's 200 Freestyle Relay (Jordan P, Henning, Daniel and Nathan) and 400 Freestyle Relay (Jordan P, Henning, Jordan B and Nathan) also brought home bronze in their 2 events.
