Puckhounds 7 – Jr. Gold Kings 2
Kean Chartrand opened the Puckhound scoring midway through the first period.  David Dedo added four goals, Robbie Popkie and Chartrand added singles to complete the Puckhound scoring.  Ben Caldwell, Teagan Grant, Jesse Daviau, Kody McDonald, and Dutcher played hard to defend against the Gold Kings.
Puckhounds 4 – Jr. Gold Kings 7

The tenacious checking of Jaiden Sears, Jordan Legros and Hunter Foreshew prevented the Gold Kings from completely dominating the first period of this second game.  Dedo scored a hat trick while Popkie added a single.

11/2/2008Grant Fuels Novice “A” Puckhounds take double head

Puckhounds 15 – Lumber Kings 0

In the first game, the Puckhounds took and early lead with 4 straight goals scored by Robbie Popkie in the first period.  The second period saw David Dedo fire two goals and singles were added by Hunter Forshew, Jordan Legros, and a short handed point shot from Eric Dutcher.  The scoring continued as Dedo and Legros added two, while Popkie, and Jaiden Sears each scored singles to complete the final frame.  Kean Chartrand notched 6 assists with his continuous tenacious play.

 

Puckhounds 10 – Lumber Kings 0

The defensive core of Ben Caldwell, Jessie Daviau, Teagan Grant, Kody McDonald, and Dutcher felt some initial game pressure as the Lumber Kings started with strong play in the second game of the double header.  Dedo managed to score the first Puckhound goal, from Popkie and Chartrand, midway through the first period.  Sears scored an unassisted marker early in the second and Dedo continued the team scoring with the next 4 goals.  Popkie added two in the third with Sears and Dutcher adding goals to round out the scoring.

10/26/2008Puckhounds win 4 on the road to open the season.

Puckhounds start their season with four road victories.

On Saturday, the Puckhounds played two games against the Hearst Lumber Kings and dominated the play winning the first match 14-0 and the second 13-0. 

In kapuskasing, the Puckhounds continued their winning streak with a 6-3 decision.  The final game of the weekend was, once again, an exciting offensive game for the Puckhounds.  recording a 8-2 victory over the Little Devils.

 

Overall, the team combined tenacious back checking, wonderful defensive puck control, and systematic offensive pressure in these four victories.  No doubt this trend will continue as they share host duties, and will participate in the Wilson Chev Olds Challenge Cup this weekend in Temiskaming Shores – Good Luck!

Novice “A” Puckhounds open their 2008/2009 season

Puckhounds 3 - Timmins 5
The Puckhounds found themselves down 3-0 entering the third period, as the newly formed team struggled to play consistently together.  Robbie Popkie scored his first two goals of the year from Kean Chartrand and goalie Devin Davies. David Dedo fired a wrist shot just under the crossbar to score his first of the year.

Puckhounds 11 - Timmins 4
Timmins came out firing on all cylinders in the second game forcing constant pressure on he defensive core of Eric Dutcher, Teagan Grant, Kody McDonald, and Jesse Daviau.  Chartrand scored his first two of the season and Jaiden Sears notched his first as well.  Popkie scored three markers, Dedo fired in another unassisted marker and Chartrand completed his “hat trick”. Jordan Legros worked hard for a puck and passed it along to Popkie who scored his fourth of the game.  Foreshew scored his first of the year and Sears scored his second.
