18 hours of continuous play involving 36 teams from the York County Lacrosse Association (YCLA) resulted in significant proceeds that will benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation.  The event proceeds will be funding the wish of Cora.  Cora just turned seven in early March and she lives in York.  She has Langerhans Histiocytosis, but is currently doing well.  Cora lives with her parents and her two siblings. Some of her favorite things are: the color purple, Fairy books, Math(!), Macaroni and cheese, Hanna Montana, Ballet, Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, cheetos and Boardwalk Pizza!  She would like to visit Disney World for her wish because as she says “ I’ve never been there before!” She will be going to Disney on April 27-May 3, 2008.

Thanks to the generous support from thousands of spectators and families who attended, an additional amount of income was generated to enable us to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to be used during lacrosse games in the future.

One of the parents summed up the event by sharing...

"Thanks again for another wonderful event.
It was a great day in so many different ways.  Community coming together, donation to a fine organization, donors coming out of the woodwork, volunteers stepping up, lacrosse players making a family feel good about their son that they can no longer watch,
having young men witness other people show excellent leadership, compassion and stewardship and most of all, having fun with our families".
