The Eastern York KNIGHTS have adopted a 2 mile stretch of highway that brings opposing teams, families, officials and lacrosse enthusiasts to our home field at Jim Macks. Route 462 (Lincoln Highway) is now the responsibility of the KNIGHTS. The KNIGHTS are proud to be involved in PennDOT's Adopt-A-Highway Program and Highway Beautification Program. Four times each year, the KNIGHTS will clean up the highway by removing any garbage and litter. All of the KNIGHTS players and one parent will be actively involved in this effort to help keep our Community clean.
Starting our third season of competitive play also marks our third year supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater PA. Each spring, the Eastern York KNIGHTS host the World's Longest Running Lacrosse Game. Proceeds from the event go to Make-A-Wish Foundation to enable a child who has a life threatening medical condition to receive their own Wish. The KNIGHTS are honored to be able to help these local York County families. To learn more, click on the 2008 WLRLG and 2007 WLRLG tabs.
This season, the Eastern York KNIGHTS will be participating in the America Supporting Americans Foster-A-Unit Program. The ASA Foster-a-Unit Program provides the opportunity for teams and organizations to support the morale of troops serving in military units both at home and overseas. The KNIGHTS will foster a military unit by sending one or two rounds of letters and care packages to servicemen and women who may already be putting themselvs in harms way. Collections will take place during the World's Longest Running Lacrosse Game in March in addition to the season ending Laxfest event to be held in May.
HOOAH Betty!! Can't wait to see these teams wearing the 10th SBTB awesome patches. --- Linda
"It was great talking with you and you can imagine how excited ASA is to have your team support. We are so proud of our youth groups and particularly our Lacrosse teams and their coaches who have rallied around our troops through America Supporting Americans - all of which are doing an awesome job!
Our troops love these kids and some have even written back telling the kids they too had played Lacrosse in school. This great sport called the "Creator's game" the "team spirit, the tough discipline and character development" somehow have similarities to that of our troops."

Thank you for taking the time and effort to support our unit. We are humbled by your support and the generosity of your team has a profound effect on our morale. We are currently in Baghdad, Iraq, and with the 10th Sustainment Brigade out of Fort Drum, NY. Our main job is to provide support for all the Soldiers in the Baghdad area. Our units regularly drive through the streets of Baghdad and bring whatever is needed to our forces throughout the area. Our days are long but we our hard work is paying great dividends. We are all looking forward to completing our mission and returning to our families.
"I'm sure we have several lacrosse players through out our Brigade."
Lacrosse is a very popular sport in the Watertown area. Syracuse University is quite a powerhouse with 9 National Championships and is featured regularly on the local news. They recently began their training camp for what is sure to be another successful season. We wish you the best of luck with your upcoming season and I'm sure some of your current athletes will be prominently featured in future NCAA Lacrosse Tournaments.
Thanks again for continued support.

Subject: Hello...
Katrina - on behalf of the Eastern York Lacrosse program, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to you and your outstanding group of soldiers. We have recently offered to help through the ASA (America Supporting Americans) program. Our lacrosse club is located in York, PA which is about an hour North from the Baltimore, MD area. Being so close to the hotbed of lacrosse in the Maryland area has enabled our program to grow over the last few years. We are having our annual fundraiser in March to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation and will also be collecting donations, letters and cards to send to you. We are excited to help and will keep you and our troops in our thoughts and prayers.
We have about 70 boys playing in our Club program this spring who range in age from 7-13 years old. I will have them actively involved in helping as we begin our practices in a few months. For now, I wanted to say hello and let you know that we are here to help.
Please feel comfortable letting me know if there is anything specific we can obtain for your Division.
I know my players will ask if there are any lacrosse players in the Division/Brigade?
