ELITE YEAR 1- "HEART AWARD" - # 70 Kevin Jones. Kevin moved to Reno Nevada recently and was honored with a cermonial farewell! ELITE recognizes its 1st ever HALL of FAMER with greatest honor. 10/7/2009 "ALL CLASS and ALL HEART" was the inscription on the award Kevin Jones received on Sunday July 12th.That night was a ceremonial farewell to a former league player, a teamate, a Tournament team Co-Captain, and most importantly a great friend to many, many, people, especially to me.It was an extremely emotional night that I will personally never forget. If you are an INLINE hockey player in the ELITE leagues, Warwick Leagues, or ever competed in NE based tournaments, you know who KEVIN JONES is.Kevin always put everyone else first and did so with generosity, and sincerity in everything he did. He was a Leader among Leaders. Kevin worked many years in the PURE HOCKEY stores and was always regarded as "The guy to go see if you needed anything in Hockey". He treated everyone like they were special and always had people walking away satisfied and wanting to come back to PURE HOCKEY.
Kevin was, and is, a huge reason I decided to bring my leagues to UXBRIDGE. His guidance, efforts, and most of all the way he conducted himself as a role model for what this league is all about, will never be forgotten as his # 70 will be retired from "ALL" ELITE HOCKEY LEAGUES. His banner which now hangs at center court, will represent "CLASS and HEART". So to anyone who was wondering what the Maple Leaf banner KJ #70 is all about, they will be told that it is the standard for which we should all strive to be as a hockey player, and as a person.
Thank you Kevin, and we wish you, your wife, and your children the absolute best in your new Home in RENO NEVADA. We will all miss you very much!
ps - Go LEAFS!
