Mojo's Chronicle
Bill Drew Memorial Tournament in Sidney, BC

April 13-15, 2007

Monday, April 16, 2007 8:47 PM – Mike Charles

Hello Sidney Mojos,

I hope everyone made it back from Canada in good time.  I just wanted to say what a great pleasure it was to spend the weekend in your company in sunny Sidney.   It was good fun playing the games, and socializing with everyone.   We were fortunate to have a great group of players and spouses on this trip.   And we made some new friends across the border.   And finally, a big Thank You to the organisers, and everyone else who pitched in, to make this trip a success.

Cheers,

Mike Charles.

Mike and fellow Mojos,

Glad to hear that you had a great time.  It is really our goal to try and insure that everyone has a good experience.  The Mojo movement is really becoming a large family.  I can’t think of a better group of people to be associated with.

Many of you have taken photos and I am asking you to please DO NOT email them to me.  It takes forever for my computer to download large files.  If you could be so kind to put them on a CD I would greatly appreciate it.  If you have print pictures I can scan those.  I can pick them up at a Sunday practice or at a scheduled game.

Also, I know that we have just gotten back from Sidney but Snohomish is looming on the horizon in July.  Sharon McBride has a block of 20 hotel rooms reserved in Monroe, WA.  We need to act on booking these rooms as quickly as possible because hotels in and around the Snohomish area fill up very early.

I will ask Sharon to get the details out to everyone and get the website updated with the necessary information.

That’s it for now and thanks to everyone for an awesome time in Sidney.

Cheers

Rick

Fellow Mojos,

I am just now regaining feeling in my legs and I don’t like it one bit.  Tomorrow night’s game will find me covering just the kick-off circle and nothing more.  Of course, that is not much different from Sunday’s second game!

Thanks to the organizers for another wonderful job.  Thanks to Mike Charles for putting up with my snoring – with the size of my nose, the noise level is the equivalent of a 747 taking off.

Gee, I wonder why Mr. Cordova’s car was gone through with a fine tooth comb and mine wasn’t?  I guess Bush’s people thought we needed a fence to “protect” our northern border, as well!

Mike, don’t use those condoms – you don’t know where they’ve been!

I’ve been contacted by a lawyer for the woman’s team – something about some “French” Mojos getting fresh with them in the hospitality tent.

Thanks to the team “wives” for all of their “services!”

Till next time,

Sammy “The Bull” Imperati

Mojo Warriors,

First, I would like to say that I’m glad everyone made it to the island safely and was glad Rick and I showed up early to take care of getting the host room supplies and reconnoiter the fields.

It was good to see everyone at the host room, however it was unfortunate that there happened to be a hockey game on TV when we decided to go down to the Charles Dickens Pub to eat dinner.  Who would of thought that we would need to be aware of such things when scheduling our activities?  It may have slowed us down but did not prevent us from squeezing in were we could to eat our dinner and by the time we finished the game was over and the place thinned out leaving us room to get down to more serious business . . . drinking.

The tournament was great fun and the organizers really made us feel welcome.  I myself would like to return again and equipped with the knowledge we learned from this trip feel the next one would be even better.

Even though there is a lot of time and effort that goes into putting one of these trips together I really don’t mind because of the enjoyment it brings to me and to those that participate.  So, I would like to thank all of YOU for making this possible by being a part of these ventures and a special thank you to the wives who supported us on the pitch and for putting up with our usual high jinks.  An extra special thanks needs to go to Chris Sokol and Cindy Mayfield for going beyond the call of duty in the host room Saturday night after dinner which I understand included something called bonging?, magic fingers, lotions, and some other toys and novelties.

Lastly, I hope that Mike Holland thanked the 28 year old goal keeper (our last game) for blocking Stu Johnson’s’ PK so that he (Mike) retained the coveted ‘Vibrating Ring Condom’ Captain Mojo presented to him during our Saturday night dinner at the Rumrunner Pub which was awarded for last goal scored.

Hope you all are recovering well and will see you on the pitch,

Rock
