You would think retirement would find FCMizzelstat enjoying the good life, but it seems the good life to Frank means writing.  Mizzelstat announced his upcoming new book about the Loons, chronicling their inaugural 2008 season.  From their tumultuous start in beginner school in April of 2008, to their stunning upset in Game 1 of the Summer 2008 playoffs, to the grind of a first D-2 season.  Frank promises in the new book - titled "The Fighting Loons: A Season on The Brink" - that it will all be there, from the lowest lows to the highest highs.  To the thrill of victory, to the agony of defeat (wait, that sounds way too cliche).  The ownership controversey.  The Fear and Loathing in the locker room...overcoming substance abuse scandals...and cleaning house of dirty players.  Punches and chairs thrown in post game bar fights between team mates at the Park Tavern.  The controversy surrounding the proposed "Fighting Loons Ice Arena and Casino" in Columbus Township near Forest Lake.  Also included will be an extensive look at the often mysterious and previously untraceable backgrounds of each Loons player and how several got to the team in secret "back room" deals.

Rumor has it that unedited first copies are being shopped around Hollywood for a potential movie. 

Expect copies to be available sometime in April.  Mizzelstat promises to hold several book signings around the Twin Cities.
