GBFL HISTORY
The bantam football program was formed in 1970 by the Greenwood Jaycees, and operated for 2 years under their direction.  The Jaycees turned over the program to a group of local residents in 1972, and a “Charter of Incorporation” was granted by the State of Indiana, that year, to create the Greenwood Bantam Football League, Inc.  The GBFL is a not-for-profit organization.

GBFL MISSION STATEMENT

Greenwood Bantam Football League, Inc. is committed to giving young athletes, both football players and cheerleaders alike, an opportunity to develop themselves physically and emotionally through athletic participation.  We will provide an environment that allows each athlete to develop skills needed to ensure success throughout their lifetime.  We will accomplish this by providing a supportive atmosphere that builds confidence and self-esteem, teaches the value of teamwork and trust, and inspires everyone to give their very best effort at all times.


BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors is voted in by the General Members at the October General Membership Meeting each year.  Each board position is strictly volunteer, and requires a strong commitment to ensure that the corporation is ran according to our By-Laws.  If you have any questions regarding the operations of the league, or would like to get involved, please contact any of the board members listed on the Staff page.


GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

Every parent is encouraged to participate in the Greenwood Bantam Football League. Inc.  Becoming a member gives you the right to vote on important matters pertaining to the league at the General Membership meetings which are held the third Tuesday of each month at the Greenwood City Building. (Please visit the schedules page  for the dates).   As a member, you will also vote on the people who will run GBFL (aka the Board of Directors).  The G.B.F.L. has implemented a new change for 2008 by allowing 2 general memberships for each child registered with a maximum of 2 per address.  General members must be 18 years of age.
