I just wanted to leave a comment about parents. We all need to remind ourselves of why we put out children in sports. I put my son in football because he wanted to play a group team sport. I stand for nothing less than repect for others, wether that be the coaches, parents, or the other players. We had a great season and my son learned a lot, he loves the sport, and I hope will continue to play. He is upset however that we went to the awards on Sunday and his team was taunted by another group of children that were calling them loosers. I felt that the coaches, as well as parents should talk to their child about repect for others as well as SPORTSMANSHIP one of the most important values that a child should be taught. My son is not sure now if he will continue to play. It took me some time to assure him that just becuase he lost his championship game didn't mean that he was a looser, and the sad thing is that the day of didn't even phase him, it was later when a group of team members from the opposing team taunted him. I am just very upset with the way that this team handled themselves throughout the season and then to top it off have their children do that at an awards ceremony was over the top. But the sadest thing is that they learned this behavior somewhere. Maybe it was the parents on the sidelines?
