Coach Ulmer returns

by BRIAN ULMER

"It gives me great pleasure to return as head coach of the Grand Forks Border Bruins.

I feel very confident that my second season in the KIJHL will be every bit as successful as the first.

A successful rookie camp in Osoyoos over the Labor day long weekend will bring more than a dozen new faces to Grand Forks.  New local imported talent mixed with 10 returning seasoned veterans, gives this year's team a firm beginning.

Discipline and hard work on and off the ice should once again prove to be the successful ingredients for a strong showing in the western division.

I wish to thank the Bruins executive for their exceptional organizational and fundraising skills so that the players and coaching staff may provide the community with the best of entertaininment possible.

I hope to see all of last season's loyal hockey fans, and many new ones, in the arena this winter".

Another year of exciting hockey
by DOREEN SORENSON, President

The 1990/91 Grand Forks Border Bruins Executive and Directors have been working hard throughout the spring and summer preparing for another exciting winter of hockey.  From Strawberry Socials to 52-Draw phone blitz we've been working to bring another season of exciting Jr. B hockey to Grand Forks.

The import hockey players are starting to arrive this week and Grand Forks is welcoming them.  People have been stopping Iris Hooge, our billeting supervisor, on the street and asking if we have enough homes!  Hockey fans opened their homes and their hearts to our team last year and it is certainly reassuring and heart warming to see it happen again.

Brian Ulmer, our coach, and Walter Slater, our general manager, worked hard last weekend selecting players at out training camp in Osoyoos.

More to come..........
