SBHS?
Was surprised to hear that Coach carpenter took the job at Hollister.  Didn't we start the year always making sure we NEVER lost to them?  Anyway, I wish him luck, and though I never met you Coach Dirk (I played 84-87), I enjoyed reading your page.

Hoosier
Great piece on Joey Schiedler.  Jim Deaver who coached the freshmen team in the early 90's gave Joey the nick name Hoosier.  Joey was a very skilled player in his day.  He had great ball skills and was a deadly shooter from 3 pt. range.  A Chris Paul type player.  Very explosive and could give you 20 and 10 on any given night.  Good luck Jeremy on your up coming season.

Wrestlers can play too!
Just wanted to congratulate Coach Dirks on the head coach position.  Wanted to know if a wrestler can get a honorary invite.  Just kidding.  Hope you guys have a very successful season.

Mr. Sovia thanks for the kind words! If there was a record for most 3's taken in practice  you would definitely be the record holder. We will try to sign you to a 10 day contract and send the private jet for you to attend the alumni game. (we're joking of course)

Travis Sovia played Varsity basketball at GHS in the 90-91 and 91-92 seasons.

Thanks
Thanks for putting this site together, Coach Dirks. Good luck this year! Good seeing your posting Steve! How about getting some more players from the Carpenter era to chime in here? By the way, does anyone know where Tracy is these days? Alfonso Aguilar? Ricardo Ruiz? Mike MacDonald?
