IRISH WIN THE 5 TOOL FLING

The Irish made another impressive showing, this time at the Bandit Yard 5 Tool Fling, Winning four straight games in overwhelming fashion. 

Great pitching, accompanied by a relentless hitting attack from top to bottom of the line up, resulted in the Irish out scoring their opponents 59-13 over the course of pool play and tournament action. Eleven of those runs were allowed in the opening game, as the Irish had to battle it out with a much improved Lafayette Lightning team. 

The Irish played solid defense the rest of the way, turning two double plays in the Championship game that prevented any type of rally by the Lafayette Lightning, who had rallied to knock off New Palestine earlier in the evening.

The Irish will travel to Cincinnati to play in the Cincinnati World Series, which starts next Saturday.
