NORTHSTARS EDGE WOLVERINES
The K&A Wolverines made a bold statement Wednesday night. Despite being edged 2-1, they showed signs of things to come this season in the SIJHL. A bewildered Ft Wm Northstars needed 2 third period goals including a 5 on 3 powerplay to steal victory from the upstart Wolverines. K&A held a 1-0 lead going into the third period, but ran into penalty trouble, allowing the Stars back into the game. Prior to the third, K&A, bolstered by new additions, Peyton Hutchinson (D), Devon Harris(F), Tyler Smith(D),and Patrick Pinder(D), made the Stars look average and disorganized. Scoring for the Wolverines was rookie Rory McKie. Spencer Malone was stellar in net stopping 43 of 45 shots in a losing effort.
Next up are the Dryden Icedogs this weekend at the T/Bay Tournament Centre. Game times are 8:00 PM ,Friday and 7:30 PM , Saturday.
