Panthers beat Mississauga 9-6

The Panthers took an 8-0 lead after four innings and then had to hang on for a 9-6 win over the visiting Mississauga Twins.

The Twins slapped out 16 hits, but some timely hitting by the Panthers allowed them to improve to 3-4, while the Twins record is now even at 3-3.

Justin Worby and Mike Winter both had two hits for the Panthers, who managed just eight hits in the game. Jeff Pietraszko added three RBI for the winners.

Matt Cockburn went five innings for the win, allowing two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and three walks in his five inning start. Five relievers finished up, including Wes Koch who got the final out of the game.

Mat Marinow was the starter and loser for the Twins. He allowed eight runs on eight hits over 3 2/3 innings, striking out six and walking five. Jonathan Slattery led the Twins with four hits, along with an RBI and two runs scored. And Henry Duke added three hits and two RBI
