Warlords Take Two League Awards 7/23/2008 For the first time in Welland Warlord's history someone is taking home OLA Jr B League Awards. Connor Danko in his first year of Junior caught the eye of teams in the Western Conference, as he was voted the Leagues, Rookie of the Year. "His play this year really turned some heads", said GM Bob Wright. "Even though we played hard and improved as a team, if it had not been for the superb play of Connor, I'm not sure we would be 10 and 10." Another reason the Warlords were 10 - 10 was the coaching of Jesse Cracknell and his staff, which also didn't go unnoticed by Western Conference Teams, as they were voted Coaching Staff of the Year. "He put together a game plan which the players adopted and it showed in their play," added Wright. "He did a great job for us, his .500 won lost record is the best in Warlords history, I congatulate both Jesse and Connor for a great year."
