3.Umpiring- The Catchers have the duty of calling balls and Strikes and calling a batted ball fair or foul.
The catcher make the call if he has caught the ball cleanly for an out.

(2) called strikes by the catcher is an out. A Hit by pitch (HBP) the batter is awarded the base. If the batter swings and has contact with the catcher on the swing the call is catchers interference(CI) and the batter is awarded a walk. A batted ball that strikes the batter, the batter is out. if the ball strikes the batters bat without a swing the ball will be determined fair or foul on where the ball stops. if the ball makes contact with an object behind the foul line it is dead and a out.
The catcher can make an attempt to keep the ball from going over the foul line,if the attempt is successful it is an out, if the ball is mishandled and travels over the line it is a hit.
Any fielder can make a attempt on a ball near the foul line, however if the ball is touched by the fielder in fair territory and goes foul it is a hit. As if a fielder mishandles the ball in foul territory and the ball travels into fair territory it is a hit.
