JR KNIGHTS DOWN CYCLONES!

The Jr Knights carried on with the regular season Wednesday night as they hosted the Chatham Kent Cyclones.

The Jr Knights scored the first goal of the game just 59 seconds into the game however had an early scare right off the opening faceoff when a Cyclones 2 on 1 was stopped by Jr Knights starting goalie Taylor Speed.  The Jr Knights rushed back up the ice seconds later and Sam Gray netted his 4th of the year.  Brendan Woods got his first of 3 on the night when he connected with Mike Mandarelli on a give and go on the power play midway through the period.

Woods and Mandarelli each netted unassisted goals in the second period to put the Jr Knights in front 4-0 entering the final frame.

The Cyclones pulled the score to 4-1 just over a minute into the third with a power play marker past Speed in the London net.  Woods completed his hat trick midway through the third before Patrick Gardner finished the scoring off with just 20 seconds remaining in the game.  With the 6-1 the Jr Knights move to within 1 point of the Huron Perth Lakers for 1st place with 2 games in hand.

The Jr Knights continue their home stand when they host the Windsor Jr Spitfires Sunday night at Medway Arena at 7:30pm.
