Long Grove A's get stronger in 2009!!!!

We are proud to announce the additions of Andrew Arenson and Jake LeMay, Ben Dallesasse, Nick DeGrazia and Kris Nordby to our 2009 Long Grove A's Roster.

Arenson, Dallesasse and LeMay were key members of the Naperville Red team that made it to the final 4 at the CABA World Series at East Cobb this summer and will give our lineup a boost in all areas this year.

Nordby played last season for the Schuamburg Seminoles and is a standout on his high school team.  DeGrazia is another standout player from St. Patrick's High school and joins Joey Igyarto, Eric Jenkins and Jeremy Daugherty on the A's roster in 2009.  Both these players fill a specific need for our team and will give us much more quality depth in all areas.

Here is a quick look at the new additions to the Long Grove A's

Andrew Arenson
was a top level player for the Reds last season and at 6 ft 5 he is a power hitting 1st basemen that also will be counted on to pitch big games for us next year he led our fall ball team in homeruns this season.

Jake LeMay is a true # 1 pitcher that has great control and really locates his pitches well.   He brings a toughness and mental approach to the game you just don't see everyday from kids.  Just nasty and his stuff is electric and should be one of the top pitchers in the state in 2009

Ben Dallesasse was the Reds go to pitcher last year and played a solid 3rd base.  Throws extremely hard and brings a nice pop with the bat too.  Had a nice fall season this year and we're looking forward to seeing him in 2009

Nick DeGrazia is one of the fastest players on the team.  Led our fall ball team in steals and runs scored this season.  Can play any place in the outfield and his speed and agility makes him the perfect lead off hitter our lineup.  Causes major headache on the bases which will make us tough to beat next year

Kris Nordby big strong lefty pitcher that also plays 1st base.  Gives us another lefty arm in our rotation.  Will be counted on to give us quality innings as a starter and as a closer this season.  Great kid with a tough as nails attitude when he takes the mound.  Expecting big things from Kris in 2009

Long Grove finish top 8 at East Cobb

Congratulations to our 2008 16 U team that traveled to East Cobb Georgia and finished in the top 8 of the CABA World Series.  Illinois was well represented at the World Series with 3 teams making the championship round.

The Naperville Reds and the Upper Deck Cougars joined us in having 3 Illinois state teams going up against some of the top teams in the country.

Also in the finals were 2-time CABA World Series champions East Cobb Astros, 6-4-3 DP Cougars, West Florida Outlawz, SC Diamond Devils Blue and the SC Palmetto Sand GNats.

This was one of the toughest tournaments of the season and our players showed once again why we're one of the top programs in the state every year.
