SIGHTS ARE HIGH for 08' and 09'
The Tiburones in the Fall of 08' and Summer of 09' will be lead by the vision of owner James M. but be lead on the field by former Manager Sixto Moreno.  Both Moreno and James will work together at getting the 08' and 09' club revamped and ready for their seasons.  Moreno comes with an extensive resume which includes Back to Back to Back Championships.  Moreno and James will concentrate all of their energy on finding the right players for their squad.

AUGUST 1st 2008:
The TiBuRoNeS to face the Royals
The Tiburones will face the Queens Royals this Saturday at 9am.  All year long the Tiburones Manager has keep extremely positive consistently watching his team compete against some of the finest talent in the league.  He's always believed his team was better than all the rest.  He never doubted any of his players.  He stood strong when certain players wanted to try and destroy the morale of the team...he stood strong...getting his team inches closer to the playoffs no matter the odds and no matter the occassion but only time will tell if the Tiburones will take what is theirs this Saturday.  This is why the Tiburons' Manager is recognized as one of the leagues Class Act Managers.  He's been extremely honest with his team, with players in the league, and other managers across the league.  He has never demeaned his players or his staff.  He is a man of class and he goes recognized as one the leagues best for placing his team in a position to win almost every week even when the cards may not be stack in their favor.  So Saturday when the Tiburones take the field they take it one man stronger...their coach...because he has always had their backs and he has always known that they were and are the BEST!

ALL STAR SELECTIONS!!

Gentlemen please help me extend congrats to the following players for making this years 2008 NYCMBL ALL STAR game.  Ryan Bohn, Jaremy Rich, and Julian Rivera.  These players have done a great job.  Congrats!

Also, Korey Donaldson has been selected to the ALL STAR ALTERNATES.  Should any player in the league choose not to attend the ALL STAR game Korey would then move into the ALL STAR team as well.  Korey has done a wonderful job and is a key contributor to our team.  He is a class act and leads by example.

Today we lost to the Blue Jays 4-3 but our spirit is NOT broken.  Its not broken because we have realized just how good we are.  We are a multi-talented bunch who respectfully play this game at the highest level and it is only a matter of time before our offense, defense, and pitching comes around full circle.  I can taste it...we are on the brink of something wonderful happening.  There have been many games this year in which we have lost by ONE run...once we figure out how to overcome this obstacle we will become unstoppable!!

The signing of first baseman Hector Moreno only improves both our offense and defensive attack.

I am proud of the way this team fights in every game we are in.  We never quit.  We will eagerly look to our match up against the Blue Sox to prove to ourselves just what we already know...we are a bunch of talented ball players who will change their season around....and it starts against the Blue Sox.  There is still plenty of baseball left and in these remaining games we will show ourselves how to bring it!!

Saturday May 31st 2008
On Friday the Tiburones made many people aware of the actions we must all try to mend.  It is for this reason that we have decided to remove the letter from our website...because it has served its purpose.  It has brought attention to our growing league.  Our league is not perfect but it is still our league.  We must all learn to agree to disagree with the imperfections we come across and by the very least try to help make things better for the next time.  A principle has been broken and it is up to all of us to try to fix it.  Its about Managers like myself who care about the growth of this league....no matter how big or small.....we try to make it better for the next generation of NYCMBL'ers.  I may not always agree with the views of league officials but let it be known that I always try my best to remain as centered as possible even when the temperature rises.

So again...something happened and we along with the league must step up to the plate.

Wednesday May 28th 2008
The Tiburones sign two new players to their already power packed line-up.  Tristan Massalay-Ellis and Joshua Mensche.  Tristan is a power hitting outfielder who has a strong arm and a keen eye at the dish.  Joshua is an infielder who also has a strong arm and a good eye at the dish.  Both players played together in college and are very excited to play for the Tiburones.  Both Joshua and Tristan are anxious to meet and gel with the rest of the Tiburones.  They are also anxious to become a part of one of the toughest teams in the league....Tristan and Joshua can not wait to place their stamp on the league!  Welcome aboard Tristan and Joshua!!!!

On Sunday May 18th Manny Alcantara pitches a NO-Hitter on his Birthday!!!  He, Manny, held the Renegades hitless as he pitched a complete game NO-Hitter helping the Tiburones to their 3rd win of the season!  Not only did Manny pitch a NO-Hitter but he struck out Ten batters in a 8-0 win!!  The Tiburones were also lead by Jaremy Rich pitching a brilliant first game winning 2-0 in a tough battle.  Jaremy battled through some tough situations with some timely defense and heads up play.  Jaremys era now goes to an almost invisible 0.87...WOW!!!  The hitting also came through with a game one homerun SHOT by Korey Donaldson.  Korey told the coach before the game that he was ready and boy was he right going 3 for 4 with a few stolen bases leading the Tiburones attack!!!  The Tiburones were also lead by some clutch hitting by Taylor, Carlos, Jose, Willard, and Julian.  This weekend the bats came alive and they are here to stay!!!

The TiBuRoNeS are happy to announce the return of Khalil Gauvin to the ball club!  Khalil has reconciled his differences and is ready to make a solid change to an already strong line-up.  "K" as we all know him will be bringing a strong pitching arm and strong outfield defense.  He reunites with his friends and looks forward to a positive relationship!!  Welcome back "K"

Monday May 5th 2008
I was proud of the way everyone played together yesterday.  Getting our first win was a great feeling but I was happier that we all played loose and as a team.  Our second game went without "blame" and THATS how WE should play every game.  Nobody is at fault...Nobody is to Blame...We play as a team and We Win or Lose as a team!!  We are getting closer to realizing how a team "United" can Never Fall.  Lets hold on to the feeling we had yesterday.  Guys....in all the games we've played there have been thousands of things we can all point at as the cause for us not winning but understand they are all not true.  There is NEVER EVER ONE CAUSE FOR NOT WINNING BALL GAMES.  All we can do is play proper defense....hit the right cut offs.....back each other up......take aggressive and smart cuts.....and above all play as a TEAM!!!  I'm proud of you all!!

One quick example of team play...........Jaremy battles the hitter at the plate....the hitter hits the ball up the middle looking like a single but wait...Jose Florimon chases the ball DOWN and stops it enough for Ryan Bohn to grab the ball on the back up......Ryan hears Julian screaming "FOUR"......Ryan Guns it Home.......Julian Blocks and Receives the Ball at the same TIME........The Batter is OUT.....END OF INNING!!!  WHAT A PLAY!!!  We got that play done because we played together............Team Play!!!

Those of you who have had a rough time either at the plate or on the field should know that I still have immense confidence in all of you.  As long as you try your best and have a never quit attitude you will be OK in my book...however understand that I must place our team in the best position to win every single weekend...with that said I am starting to make adjustments carefully placing certain players into certain roles.  So whether you come off the bench or start a game BE READY.

Once again....I am proud of you all for the great efforts you have done to improve our season and lets win some more games!!!

By the way...the past couple of games have been great.  We've played very close games against opposing teams who have yet to see how talented we truly are.  Think about it....which game can you think of that we were out matched???....I'll tell you.....NONE.  We've been in every game and to think...we have not even reached our level of talent yet.  Now thats scary!!!  Once we reach our level of play we'll be unstoppable!!!

Sunday April 13th 2008: Game Day!!  The Start of a New Season.  This is what we have all worked hard for...we have all worked hard for having a Sucessful Season so take each game day by day.  There is no game more special than the other...each game is a time for us to reflect and do our best.  Trying our best and playing as a team is the best we can do and if in the end we end up winning a game or two then thats a plus.  Go out there....try your best...play as a team....show alot of respect....and we'll leave the field with a sense of acomplishment no matter what the score is.  LoS TiBuRoNeS vs the new york storm....1:30 game start.....everyone should be at the ball field by 12:30.....lets have a great day!!!

Do you remember the very first time you ever went to a game?  Who was it with??  Did you have fun??  Did you ever experience a wonderful win....or a bad loss??  Who bought you your first bat or glove??  Doesn't it feel good to grab a ball to play toss??  How about playing on a ball club that gets along...have you ever experienced that??  Is baseball still fun win or lose???  I felt compelled to write this letter to you as a reminder of what joining this team means.  Every single one of you came to me with a dream of playing baseball on a good team......so what is a good team???  Is a good team defined as a team that wins a lot of games???  Or is a good team defined in the character of its players??  I believe both are true!!  We are obviously talented but we are also a bunch of kind hearted guys.  Being the people we are we must all remind ourselves what is most important on this team......we must remind ourselves that we are all joined at the hip....on a mission....to play the best baseball we could possibly play and hope that the outcome goes in our favor.  That's it!!  Trying hard is the key.....doing your best.  Have you ever heard of a ball club taking the field "automatically winning?"  Impossible....everyone's got a shot at winning and at doing well.  We come together every Saturday or Sunday to play the game we all love....with a bunch of guys who we all enjoy playing with.....sharing stories of the week gone by or the sharing baseball knowledge.  As we near the end of the exhibition season we must all try to play our "loosest" and not worry about how we will perform but rather how hard we will play!  We must play Tiburones baseball.......so what is Tiburones baseball???  Tiburones baseball is all about focus.  Focus on us....on our team....on what we are doing.....on our dreams.....and on our goals.  You must focus on US.  On OUR team.  On taking the signs from Jesus, and stealing bases.  On the hit and run.  Most importantly we must focus on hitting the ball and catching the ball because those two things are the only things that matter.  It doesn't matter who is pitching against us because we still have to hit the ball......its easy......go to the plate.......watch the ball come out of the pitchers hand....follow it....and hit it......that's baseball.  That's how we win games.......we win games by simplifying the game.  Take away the extras and the game is simple.  I do not know how many games we will win because I always take it one game at a time.  Simplify the game and you will become more relaxed and realize all your potentials.  Do you all see what I see???  If you don't start believing because its all true.  We are all part of a team that is one of the best in the league.......come to the games unified and there is no possible way we can ever become divided.  FOCUS.....see the ball....hit the ball......Simplify-do or die.  Each of us will have a job to do........No Job Out Weighs Another...we are all one unit.  Believe and it will be so.  Each one of you is important and valuable on this team.....everyone must show up to play and when you play you must play together.....unified.....never broken.......always together......one team.....one mission........one goal........"WE" is the key and above all...smile because were playing baseball.  Simplify...do or die!!!

Attention All TiBuRoNeS!!!!  As many of you know I have been in search of a Co-Captain and I am announcing happily today that Coach Jesus and I have decided on naming Mike Pacheco as its Co-Captain.  Mike Pacheco has a long history of fine leadership and shows integrity in all he does.  Mike will work side by side with Co-Captain Carlos Feliz as they both look forward to leading the TiBuRoNeS into the 2008 season and beyond.  Co-Captain Carlos Feliz has done an exceptional job and looks forward to joining forces with now Co-Captain Mike Pacheco.  We all look forward to great things from both Mike, Carlos and the rest of the TiBuRoNeS in the 2008 season!!  Congrats Mike!!

The TiBuRoNeS will be headed into the final weekend meeting...this Saturday!!  ALL FEES are DUE by Thursday!!  Get at the Manager TODAY!!!

The TiBuRoNeS will face the New York Knights this Sunday at 9am at Harris Field.  Be there!!!

Saturday the 23rd of March was a great day for the TiBuRoNeS.  The day was filled with a wonderful atmosphere with many clubs coming down for the league benefit.  The TiBuRoNeS chipped in to support the league and then took care of business on the field.  The Storm hit the field against the TiBuRoNeS.  The Storm started out the ball game with a homerun off ace Emmanuel but the TiBuRoNeS came charging back scoring 2 of their own in the bottom of the inning.  The TiBuRoNeS then scored 3 in the second, 2 in the third, and 4 in the fourth...the TiBuRoNeS finally found their swagger.  Starter Emmanuel pitched a great game quickly showing why he will be a force to be reckoned with and reliever Mike Pacheco came in to give some relief and also showed great poise and steadiness on the hill.  Both Mike and E-man showed why they are two great pitchers on a solid team!!  The pitching was helped by a solid offensive attack.  Julian, Korey, and Ryan were the top three and showed speed and power!!  Carlos, Luis, Allen, and Edwin showed why the middle of the line-up will be dangerous, and finally Alan, Willard, and Dempsey showed why you just can't sleep on the bottom three!!!  The entire line-up gelled and clicked!!!  The TiBuRoNeS will not forget the defensive and offensive attack of today because there is still more to come!!!

The TiBuRoNeS will be facing The Bronx Padres this Saturday at 4pm!!  All TiBuRoNeS players are to be ready to hit the field!!!!

Our Game Vs The Bronx Cubs went down to the wire.  The Cubs, ahead by two runs in the last inning, surrendered one run on a wild pitch.  The TiBuRoNeS then worked out a walk and stole a base...they had the tying run on second with two outs and after a hard faught battle for balls and strikes the game ended on a slow grounder to second and a close play at first.  Our guys never quit coming from 7 runs down to take the lead at one point.  Much props go to the Cubs as they showed alot of class and poise....sometimes its just too bad when one team has to win and one has to lose when both teams grind it out like these two did.

It is really amazing to see how close the TiBuRoNeS are Gell-in together to become a deep squad.  Everyone is quickly learning what their roles are slowing becoming a hardcore bunch!!!  The TiBuRoNeS will be back!!!

Who are we?
Los Tiburones is an organization comprised of ex-ball players from other organizations and present ball players who are tired of the same old same old from their own old squads. These are ball players who want a change. They want to know whether or not the organization is truly committed to winning and excellence.  Los Tiburones is the brainchild of Manager James Mojica who prided himself on building an organization that truly cared about the individual first, and the baseball player a very close second.  He is joined at the hip with his Assistant Coach Jesus Ramirez, an Extremely knowledgable Ex-Minor Leaguer, who along with James is committed to excellence in 08' and beyond.  Jesus and James make an equal team as they understand and develop their players together as one unit.

We at Los Tiburones want all our players to further their careers and studies.  We offer job placement to those in need, and college guidance to those looking to further their educations.  Los Tiburones is about positive change on and off the field.  Los Tiburones will consist of 17 of the most talented ball players in the city!  The Tiburones are a rough and tumble type of group ready for action. Los Tiburones are players who practice together, hangout together, show up on time, hustle, dive, throw hard, play defense harder, hit for more distance, pitch better than any other squad, are coached better, and better prepared for every game!!  2008 and Los Tiburones equals respect!!!  Finally a team you can admire!!!

A message to all past and new players
Having a team that gets along is very important towards winning games. Players must be able to communicate with one another without fear of being misunderstood. Listening and understanding before speaking is also a good practice. In everyday life you will meet people who you may not necessarily want to talk to, work with, or spend time with because we have all prejudged the person but if we all learn to listen carefully before being quick to judge then we would be sharpening up our social skills thus creating a much finer and richer relationship between yourselves and the other person. Often times we are all consumed with being correct that the message gets lost.

People I have lived a nice life thus far and I look forward to having a greater one in years to come and I can tell you from experience that part of becoming mature young men is proper communication. It is much better to be happy without needing to feel correct. Example: Ever open the door for a stranger and get mad that they did say thank you? Or has anyone ever sneezed and you said God bless you and they didn’t say anything…did that upset you? Well one of the things we must practice is giving WITHOUT feeling a need to get anything back. This is why Christmas time is considered to be one of the finest times of the year…its because we give without needing anything back. I am reminding you of this because I know what it takes to win games and what it must mean to be a part of a team.

I am giving to my team without feeling like I need anything back. I will give you all my knowledge of both baseball and how to become good upstanding young men...what you do with my information is up to you.

I believe our ball club has the chance to win many games but it is up to us to wake up in the morning...get to the ball field...play hard without regret...play as a team...this is the ingredient to win games. Its the decision to come to the ball field prepared. We come as a team...we win as a team!!

The Captain
Los Tiburones is proud to announce Carlos Feliz as the Teams Captain. Carlos has worked incredibly hard both on and off the field to become the kind of ball player everyone respects. He is dedicated towards bringing the entire team closer as a unit and closer to a championship....Congrats Carlos!!
