Hounds Complete Weekend Sweep

The Greyhounds capped a successful weekend defeating BRHC Colonial rival East Carolina 7-3 on Friday night at Bladez on Ice in Greenville, North Carolina. The Greyhounds took the lead 4-3 on a Tom Lindberg goal at 19:59 of the 2nd period and never looked back, outscoring the Pirates 3-0 in the final period en route to a 7-3 victory and a regular season sweep over the Pirates. On Saturday night, the Greyhounds returned home to face Catholic University and won a tight, physical game 2-1. Junior Jerry Fagerberg made 27 saves for the Greyhounds in the win. Next weekend, the Greyhounds travel to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for the JSM Memorial Tournament. They will take on the University of South Carolina and University of North Carolina on Saturday. 

Loyola Improves 3rd position Second Rankings

The ACHA second rankings of the year were released in the past week. The Greyhounds were once again ranked 3rd, only behind Central Florida and Florida Gulf Coast. The Hounds improved their total to 24 votes, 11 behind #2 Florida Gulf Coast and 6 ahead of #4 Tennessee. After a 5-0-0-1 ranking period, Loyola registered wins over #8 Salisbury, and #10 Christopher Newport with the only loss coming to George Washington in a shootout on Halloween. The JSM Tournament in Chapel Hill, NC will feature #3 Loyola, #4 Tennessee, #10 Christopher Newport, and #12 Alabama.
