Loyola Wins Rumble in RichmondIn a snow filled weekend in Richmond, Virginia, the Greyhounds took home the Rumble in Richmond Tournament Title, hosted by the University of Richmond. On Friday night, the Greyhounds revenged an October overtime loss to Colonial division foe George Washington, winning 8-3. On Saturday night, Loyola edged Catholic 6-5 in Overtime behind Sophomore Phil Fusco's Game Winning Goal. Loyola completed the weekend sweep with a win over the University of Richmond 8-1. Sophomore Rob Summerlin was named Top Forward of the Tournament and 3 different Loyola goaltenders (Steve McGirr, Jon Krober, and Kevin Lindberg) all recorded wins in the Greyhounds' victories. Loyola moves to 23-3-0-1 on the season and 11-0-0-1 in the Blue Ridge Colonial Divison. Next weekend the Greyhounds close up the Final Ranking period with an away game vs. Catholic on Friday and the BRHC Colonial Finale vs. Old Dominion at Ice World on Saturday. |
