Change in USA Hockey Registration Dates:

May 1st to May 1st - this year only your last years 08/09 registration will be valid until August.

Goalie Pad Change for next season:

From 12" to 11" - The leg guards worn by goalkeepers shall not exceed 11 inches in extreme width and 38 inches in length as measured when on the leg of the player. The boot channel of the goalkeeper pad must be flat or concave in appearance with no additional attachments such as a puck foil. The boot is the bottom of the pad that sits over the top of the skate. Calf protectors must follow the contour of the calf and ankle and can have a thickness of no greater than 112 inches The knee strap pad is not to exceed 112 inches in thickness and must be fastened to the inner risers and follow the contour of the inner knee. All outer knee protection must be worn under the thigh guard of the pant or follow the contour of the leg. - CHECK YOUR EQUIPMENT!

All injures must be reported to Suzy Coronel (Alaska Associate Risk Manager)  Email Address: aksuzy1@aol.com   - Also please make sure that the injury is noted on the Score Sheet.

ASHA Elections:

Now is the time to step up and get involved at the state level.  It was reported that there will be several vacancies on the ASHA State board, if you or someone you know would like to get involved, get in touch with Jack Tragis - jackt@alaska.net   - ALL NOMINATIONS NEED TO BE IN PRIOR TO APRIL 18TH, 2009

State Tournament:

Now is the time to start thinking about next year and what, if any state tournament/s we would like to host in the valley.  Please forward your recommendations along to your division representative for discussion at the next board meeting.  I will need to bring the association recommendations to the next council meeting in April.
