Impact Offense responds in big win over New Berlin. 6/19/2008After two lethargic games against Franklin this past weekend, the Muskego offense had something to prove. It didn't take them long to prove it. Muskego sent 10 batters to the plate in the first inning, scoring 5 runs en route to a 8-2 win in seven innings. The game was prematurely ended due to limited visibility (fog).
The offense was lead by the middele of the order. Andy Liss was 2-4 with 3 runs scored., Joe Kooping had four hits, Nick Blanchet was a perfect 3-3 and on base 5 times, and Casey Lyman was 2-3 with 5 rbi's. Lyman broke the game open in the first with a bases loaded double down the right field line.
Bob Dillon (2-0) was the recipient of the early offense. Dillon, pitched a complete game, allowing only 6 hits and 2 earned runs. He struck out 6, while walking only 2. He also "helped his own cause" by picking off two New Berlin baserunners.
The Impact (5-1) take on the first place West Allis Nighthawks (3-0) this Sunday. The doubleheader begins at noon at Wisconsin Lutheran.
