Wouldn't you smile after going deep? Pitching shines in victory over Kiwanis 6/23/2008June 18, 2008-
Dan Croak battled for 6 strong innings to carry the Muskego Impact to a 9-2 victory over the Racine Kiwanis(1-4) Wednesday night. He had to battle more than just hitters to get the win. Pitching around some unexpected sloppy defense, Croak (2-0, 0.00 ERA) limited the Kiwanis to 2 unearned runs by allowing only two hits and walking none.
The bullpen was superb as David Mihlsimmer pitched a perfect 7th, and newcomer Tim Hoy closed things out with two shutout innings. Eight of the last 9 outs were via the strikeout, Mihlsimmer fanning 2 in his frame and Hoy recording all 6 of his outs by punchout.
The Impact offense was lead by the middle of the order as 3B Nic Blanchet broke things open with a 2-run triple in the fourth. 1B Andy Liss went 3-4 on the day with a run scored, and DH Bob Dillon hit a solo shot in the 6th. Leadoff hitter C Josh Beatka had 2 hits and 2 rbi's, and Brian Prusinski came off the bench and went 2 for 2.
The Impact (7-1) play host to the North Shore Knights (3-4) Sunday June 22nd. The game will be played in Wind Lake at Meyer Park.
