Kid's Cricket
- on April 5th at Rhodes Park ground, NCC kicked off its Kids Cricket Program. Coaches Derrick and Naveed provided kids some basic information about cricket. Kids enjoyed the practice session.
 

SoftCricket’ is a shortened and fast-paced version of cricket designed especially for children learning the game. While being fun for the players, it teaches the fundamentals of the game and allows those wishing to continue on to more traditional versions of cricket to continue on with a thorough understanding of the basics.

SoftCricket’ stresses equal participation from boys and girls.

SoftCricket’ is played indoor (Gyms and Halls) as well as outdoor (Baseball Fields, Soccer Fields, Backyards etc). It is ideal for Schools and Recreation Centers.

April 05'09 - NCC won the season opening scrimmage with Memphis Cricket Association. MCA travelled from Memphis to participate in the season opener.  

7/4/2009 - Knight Riders will meet NCC Seamers in the finals of MCCL 2009. Knight Riders posted tournament's highest total of 226 in 15 overs with Viren scoring 126. NCC Seamers got best of NCC Nomads in a very close match and won the match by three runs. Ali, Alam and Fakre took three wickets each. In the race of best batsman of the tournament, Sandeep is leading with closely followed by Sameer and Viren. For the honors of Best Bowler, Naseer leads the pack. Finals will be on July 12th 9AM at Rhodes Park. 

5/31/2009 - NCC Seamers beat KCC and maintained it's unbeaten record. Sameer hit 88 with 13 sixes and 2 fours. Knight Riders beat NCC Nomads in the first game but in the bowl out game Nomads got better of Knight Riders and won on the last ball. Zameer had an excellent innings of 93 not out with 10 sixes. In the last week, Seamers and Nomads won both of their games. Nomads hit tournament's ioghest score of 170 with Zaheer scoring 65.


Music City Cricket League started on April 27 with some hard hitting from Sandeep (Knight Riders) who scored the highest score of the day 85 with 9 sixes AND Osman from NCC who scored 63 with 6 sixes. Naseer from NCC took 6 wickets against Tigers. Knight Riders beat KCC, NCC teams Seamers and Nomads won their matches by beating Tigers and Lions from White House. 

Music City Cricket League will be played with hard tennis ball. This league is for casual players who are interested in making some swings with ball and bat. The league will be of 12 overs with 8 players per team. Six teams from Kentucky and Tennessee have confirmed to participate. The league starts April 27. Matches will be played at NCC's home ground 'Rhodes Park'.

2008 Sarasota Cricket Tournament


Nov'2008 NCC played in the main league, won two mathes and lost two. In the match againt Miami Titans, NCC players scored 85 runs in the 5 overs. Zaheer, Alam and Bimal had good knocks. In the final match NCC beat Memorials from Houston. Naseer hit some of the longest sixes in this match. Bimal, Zaheer, Naseer, Peter, Alam and Naveed represented NCC.



Nov'2007 NCC beat Memorials Cricket Club in the finals of Sarasota Cricket tournament to win 2007 Presidents Cup. Alam, Bimal, Ashfaq, Peter, Mike and Naveed represented NCC Vols in this exciting tournament. In the tournament we had 5 wins and a loss. In the finals we scored 73 (7 overs) and restricted Houston to 53. Alam, Bimal and Ashfaq had great batting performances.



Nov'2006: NCC met Memorials Cricket Club in the finals of Sarasota Cricket tournsment and lost by a narrow margin. In the league matches, NCC had a perfect 4-0 record and in the semifinal NCC scored the highest score of 10+ years of tournament history. Ten teams from the various clubs and countries participated in this six-a-side tournament.
