2009 Season Opener

April 05'09 - NCC won the season opening scrimmage with Memphis Cricket Association. MCA travelled from Memphis to participate in the season opener.
 
Captain James won the toss and elected to bat. MCA scored 168 in 35 overs. NCC bowlers bowled with good line and length and never gave MCA batsmen any chance to score freely. Naseer, Zaheer, Ashan, Osman and Alam bowled quite well. Overall we have a good fielding day with Ryan taking a spectacular catch at square leg and Naseer & Anant taking good catches. Rajesh as a keeper was excellent as usual.
 
Naseer and Alam opened from NCC. They had good partnership before Naseer got out. Neil played well and kept score moving with well ahead of the required average. After a couple of quick wickets, NCC Captain Zaheer joined Sameer on the crease. Both started playing very sensibly with Zaheer holding one end and Sameer hitting the ball quite freely. Sameer played with maturity, technique and ruthlessness. Sameer and Ashan finished the game in 26 overs with Sameer hitting a four over midon. Sameer ended up with 55 not out.
