NCC beat St. Mountain CC in 20/20

7/28/2009 -  NCC won the 2nd 20/20 match in Atlanta with St. Mountains CC. Zaheer won the toss and without any hesitation decided to bat. We had our best first wicket partnership of 100+ runs between Naseer and Gary. Both scored 91 run in the first ten overs. Naseer hit 73 with great shots all over the ground. Gary supported well with 25 runs or so. Rest of the players supported quite well with good contributions. Pretty much every player hit quick 10 runs or so and kept the score moving. We ended up scoring 183 in 20 overs.

NCC bowers started quite well and did not give opportunity to batsmen to hit freely. St. Mountain’s score was 71 in the first 10 overs. Fazal got the first wicket with an excellent catch by Gary. After the first wicket, we kept the pressure and started getting wickets. Hassan contributed with great runout with direct throw from mid off. Naseer came in to bowl when there was a sense that match may get a little exciting as St. Mountain needed 80 or so in last 8 overs with 8 wickets. Naseer cleaned up the middle order with three wickets. Zaheer and Gary took a wicket each. We won the game by 30 runs.
