Welcome to the home of New York Storm Baseball. After a disappointing 16-16 finish in their inaugural first season, the NY Storm are looking to learn from last year's short comings and start a new chapter with Championship aspirations in mind.
With nine returning players from the 2007 team, the Storm will rely on the returning veterans to anchor the team and with the addition of seven new faces, the Storm expects nothing less than a playoff birth.

The Storm kicked off the 2008 Season with a resilient sweep of Los Tiburones winning 2-1 in the first game behind strong pitching from Rob Wolf and Brian Thompson recording the save in stellar relief work. The decisive blow in the game came in the top of the fifth when catcher Sami Akleh snapped a 1-1 tie with a solo home run.
In the nightcap, the Storm followed up the nail-bitter with a back-and-forth battle with the Tiburones with a botch run down in the bottom of the sixth allowed Cesar Gomez to score the what proved to be the winning run, snapping a 6-6 tie to help the Storm to a 7-6 victory. In a game filled with some sloppy defense, Wilson gutted out 5+ innings before giving way to the tandem of Thompson and Gomez who slammed the door in the seventh for his first save of the season. Offensively, the Storm got timely hits from Akleh, who had a clutch 2-run double to help the Storm recapture the lead, and Bryan Howard who drove in 2 and added a double.

The Storm improved to 4-0 with a pair of decisive victories over the Queens Royals by the scores of 14-3 and 11-4.
In the opener, starter Rob Wolf left with a blister with two-outs in second just as the Royals had climbed ahead 3-2. But Longman Angel Brito stepped in to slam the door, shutting down the Royals bats the rest of the way. The Storm offense only mustered a few hits, but they were patient at the plate all day, drawing 15 walks and 2 hit batters to create runs in nearly every inning.
In the night cap, ace Terrell Wilson pitched six strong innings, navigating through six walks while recording 10 strikeouts to earn his first win of the season. Offensively, the Storm were led by Brito who had a pair of singles, 2 RBIs and a run scored, and Bryan Howard, who continued his torrid start to the 2008 season with a double, two singles and 2 RBIs.
The Storm will face the Downtown Bulls this Sunday at South Shore High School. Game time is 1:30pm. Starting pitcher for Game 1: TBD and for Game 2: Terrell Wilson.
