MISSION STATEMENT

The Ohio Swarm Minor League Football Club will strive to provide quality family entertainment while encouraging competitiveness and exercising sportsmanship.  We will represent the Mid Continental Football League with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism.

 


GOALS

1.    To provide the surrounding communities and fans with a quality football organization which can be looked upon as a great source of entertainment.

2.    To provide a football organization that it's players and coaches are proud to be associated with.

3.    To encourage athletes from the Central Ohio area, who are unfamiliar with the Mid Continental Football League , to join and compete with this organization.





CODE OF ETHICS/CONDUCT

 

All players and coaches will agree to the following Code of Ethics/Conduct

before they can attend any practices or games.

 1. There will be no fighting between players or any team personnel on the field or the sidelines.  You will be ejected from the game and fined the league penalty.  You will leave the premises and not play again until said fine is paid in full.  If a second incident involving the same player occurs, that player will be removed from the roster and not released to play in the Mid Continental Football League (MCFL) until next season.

2. Abusive or vulgar language will be kept to a minimum.  Any extensive use of profanity will not be tolerated during games, including sidelines.  If you are asked by the coaching staff or management personnel to refrain from abusive language more than two times in a given game, you will be asked to leave the field.

3. Deliberate dirty play or cheap shots will not be tolerated at all.  Zero tolerance for this type of action.  You will be dropped from the team roster and not be released to play on another team until the next season.

4. Physical or verbal abuse of any kind to players, coaches, or management is unacceptable.  You will be treated with respect and dignity and we expect the same of you. First abuse will result in a verbal warning, second abuse will result in a game suspension and third abuse will result in removal from the team.

5. Zero tolerance for any physical violence or threats of physical violence towards the game officials.  You will be dropped from the team roster and the police will be called.

6. If you fail to attend the required number of practices before each game (as deemed necessary by the coaching staff), you will not play in that game.  No exceptions. (Refer to "Practice and Freebees" handout).

7. The coaches have the right to make whatever changes they deem necessary for the good of the team.  If you are benched or pulled out of the game, you will not confront the coaching staff regarding their decision. There shall be no clubhouse or locker room objectionable demonstrations of dissent concerning coaches’ decisions. First violation will result in a two game suspension, second violation will result in automatic team suspension.

8. The Ohio Swarm will not tolerate any conflict between the offensive, defensive, and special teams due to ineffectiveness on the field.  You will support each other and help raise their level of play through positive actions and words.  Keep negativity off of our sidelines. First abuse will result in a verbal warning, second abuse will result in a game suspension and third abuse will result in removal from the team.

9. There will be no tolerance for drugs or alcohol on this team.  Any player under the influence of drugs or alcohol during practice or a game will be immediately terminated from the team, no questions asked.

10. All Players are required to wear the team uniform in its’ entirety, including socks and belt. No alterations to the helmet decals, stripes, or numbers are permitted. Players will not be allowed to add or delete any items to the helmet, such as the removal of logos, or the addition of decals of any kind (unless authorized by management).

11. We want to set a standard on this team that all will take pride in.  We want the public and our peers to see that we want to make a difference in the perception of this league by our actions on and off the field.  No matter the outcome, you must maintain good sportsmanship before, during, and after the game.  All players will shake hands with the other team after the game. First abuse will result in a verbal warning, second abuse will result in removal from the team.

12. Players are required to participate in the game as either a player or spectator at all times. Visiting with family members or friends during the game will not be allowed. This includes talking to family and friends against the fence or visiting with them in the stands. First abuse will result in a verbal warning, second abuse will result in a game suspension and third abuse will result in removal from the team.

13. All players' fees are completely due by  June 1st. Fees must be paid in full before uniforms will be issued and games can be played.  If a player is cut from the team for violating this Code of Ethics/Conduct, said player will forfeit his team dues and must return all equipment that belongs to the team.
