Provincial Regional and Masters Championship

Newmarket, March 21 & 22, 2009

Race Results.

Oakville had 25 members compete at this Championship Ability meet.

We had 3 medal winners. 

Congratulations to:

Stephen Van Gemert – 3^rd 

Brigitte Layfield – 3^rd – (first time competitor)

Kyle Van Bavel – 3^rd

Reaching the Primary finals on Sunday were:

Robert Lowrey – 4th

Jessica Silla - 4^th

Gabriel Patron – 6^th

Cassandra Boychuk – 6^th

Many skaters attained several personal bests.

Congratulations to Jordan Boychuk who skated his 500m in under 60 seconds for the first time.  “59.41” - Cake on Thursday. 

At this time, the Club would like to warmly thank all of its coaches for their time and tremendous coaching efforts at meets through out the season.  There were a total of 12 meets across the Province of Ontario, all of which we had coaches available, and 11 meets outside of Ontario in which we had coaches at a great majority of these meets.  At many meets, certain Clubs do not have coaches attend with their skaters.  Having coaches attend at meets is even more challenging for Oakville as we have Saturday sessions which require coaching as well.
