PBA Legends USA Foundation and Antipolo City Government Set Medical and Dental Mission on October 25, 2006 to Serve 1,500 Patients.

Next Stop is Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija on October 26

In a collaborative effort, the PBA Legends USA Foundation and the Antipolo City Government set October 25, 2008, Saturday, for a massive medical and dental mission involving some 1,500 indigent patients.

PBA Legends President and Chair Abe King, Jr., and Councilor Alex  Marquez, Chair of the Health and Social Services Committee of Antipolo City are pulling their resources to make the mission a huge success. King and Marquez discussed the project in March during the Grand Reunion Tour of PBA Legends in California.

Mayor Victor Sumulong of Antipolo is giving his all-out support to the charitable program including the assistance of the city medical staff, and doctor, dentist and nurse volunteers for the mission. Preparations are underway to census the prospective recipients under the leadership of Councilor Marquez. The mission will be held in a depressed area in the city.

“Continuing medical and dental missions, and the grant of scholarship grants to deserving but poor students to study in college are in the short and long-range plans of the Foundation,” declares Abe King from his home in Washington State .  King will enplane for Manila for the mission.

“We hope our basketball fans, particularly those who watched the PBA Legends games in Washington state, California, and New York, and those in the Philippines , will support anew the medical and dental mission,” appeals Abe King. The PBA Legends website (www.pbalegendsusa.com) provides a mechanism to receive tax-deductible donations. “Any amount is most welcome that could mean a better life for our poor kababayans in the Philippines ,” adds Abe.

Next stop to a similar mission is Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija that will involve some 500 indigent patients.  PBA Legends Foundation Vice President Rey Santos is coordinating the activity with local town executives and volunteer doctors, dentists and nurses. The mission will be held in the town plaza.

PBA Legends  Robert Jaworski,  Mon Fernandez, Atoy Co, Philip Cezar, Allan Caidic, Alvin Patrimonio, Sonny Cabatu, Ronnie Magsanoc, Jo Lastimosa, Manny Paner, Olsen Racela, Hector Calma, Art de la cruz and others are expected to grace the Antipolo and Cuyapo missions. The superstars consider their participation as seminal to the growth of their Foundation whereby they give back to the community love and service for all the years the public supported them in the sport.
