PBA Legends USA Bulletin Board

Here's wishing the PBA Legends USA Foundation the best for its success in pursuing its goals and endeavors. I almost fell off my chair when I read about its upcoming exhibition games in California with the big guns coming. It brought me back to those unforgettable days of Crispa-Toyota championships in a smoke filled and jampacked Araneta Coliseum with that distinct smell of vinyl upholstery which up to now fills my nostrils. As I promised Abe, I will be there for the Southern California games with Raffy Mejia and we are offerring our services as sportscasters for our contribution to give the games an original and authentic '70s flavor.
This is truly an affair to attend and forever cherish as we go towards the twilight years of our lives where we have more years behind us than ahead. More power to you, Legends!

Sa mga die hard fans ng PBA noon at ngayon,  humihingi po ako ng inyong buong suporta para po sa ikapagtatagumpay ng PBA Exhibition Games na gaganapin sa buong buwan ng Marso 2008.  Hikayatin po sana natin ang ating mga kaibigan na mahilig manood ng PBA games lalong-lalo na po doon sa mga nakatira po dito sa United States.  Sa mga nakatira naman po sa East Coast,  huwag po kayong mawalan ng pag-asa at in the future ay diyan naman po gaganapin ang mga exhibition games.  Sama-sama po tayong tumulong sa ganitong foundation dahil sa malaki po ang maitutulong nito sa mga kababayan nating nangangailangan at kapos sa buhay na nasa Pilipinas.  Umaasa po ako na magkikita-kita tayo sa Marso para mapanood ang ating mga idol na PBA Superstars.  Maraming salamat po!

I am happy to join you today in support of my fellow countryman, Mr. Rudy Distrito, whose life was ruined by this very depressing incident. 

Twenty-one years ago, I had a chance to invite Mr. Distrito to play basketball in celebration of our town fiesta and he agreed without hesitation as a demonstration of his passion for the game of basketball. He brought cheers to my fellow town mates.  

After the game, I brought him to our house for food and drinks, then chatted with him for some time and came to know more about his on and off the court personality.  In my conversation with him, I find him very friendly, kind and serious, symbolic of his competitive nature. 

The question is ---what impelled me to write to you?  The answer is that Filipinos living here in United States are guided by noble principles as we hold on to the promise of America, that irrespective of  color or race, we are guaranteed the unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. 

We are hoping that you can help bring in more light on this very sad incident involving Rudy Distrito, and convince Judge David Wall to render a fair and reasonable sentence. The Judge could end the case once and for all and bring Rudy Distrito back to his family that love him so much. 

Let us not let them wallow anymore in the valley of despair. The family and loved ones of Mr. Distrito need him to continue in their pursuit of life-long dream here in America.

Dear Sir Ignacio,

Sir, salamat at nandiyan pa rin kayo bilang Manager ko. Sir, malaki ang tulong na ibinigay ninyo sa akin lalo na yung letter sa Lawyer ko at sa Judge ko. Malaking support sa kaso ko ang mga letters na yun.

Anyway, malaki ang pangarap ko sa buhay. Sir, natupad lahat ang gusto ko bilang basketball player. Naging superstar ako sa PBA at naging 7  times All-Star player. Lahat ito ay dahil sa Country Fair Hotdogs at nakilala ako bilang player ng PBA.

Sir, marami din akong natulungang tao pag-dating sa basketball. Sir, tumanda ako nang walang kaaway sa labas. Sa court, marami, kasi rugged ako maglaro dahil idol ko si Coach Sonny Jaworski. Siya ang unang taong nag-visit sa akin at tumulong at si Jinggoy Estrada ang nagtulong sa akin sa pagsuko. Ang kanyang Tita na lawyer sa L.A. and tumawag sa FBI.
