ADVANCED TRAINING CAMP

The 2009 ADVANCED TRAINING CAMP (ATC) features power skating; shooting & scoring techniques, creative stick handling and innovative passing drills. At the Group 2 Level, (98, 97, 96's) we will also place a very high priority on body-checking instruction, including how to give and take a body-check. We will demonstrate the dangers of checking along the boards and help players better understand preventative methods to avoid serious injury as a result of giving or receiving a body check.

The ADVANCED TRAINING CAMP will meet daily for two weeks, with 2 hours of instruction per day. This will be more of a hockey school/camp atmosphere at a more affordable price, and with fewer players on the ice... which in turn means, your player will get more repetitions and opportunities to master skills.

At PHS, our player's On-Ice development program is based on high expectations, positive reinforcement, specific instruction, and high intensity sessions. We constantly challenge our players and expect them to work outside their comfort zone, focusing on improving during each drill. A combination of low work to rest ratio, efficient ice utilization, positive reinforcement and high intensity is used to challenge each player to strive for maximum overall improvement.

Our Off-Ice development (hockey specific strength & skill training), will incorporate skills needed to be a complete hockey player. Shooting & Passing Stations, Puck Control Circuits, Striding Boards & Hockey Systems & Strategies will be the main focus of our dry-land program.

Registration Fee $150.

Peewee League.....1998, 1997

The 2009 DEVELOPMENTAL HOCKEY LEAGUE (DHL) will again stay consistent this season with the concept of more team practices & skill development sessions (6), while keeping consistent with the number of games (14) we have had in past years.

We feel that this is ultimately a developmental league, and the extra team skill development time will develop hockey skills in your players as well as teach them team strategies and fundamental skills that they will incorporate to have success with during game-time situations.

Each level will now consist of 5 teams, with a maximum 15 skaters and 2 goalies on each team.
PHS will allow the first 75 skaters and up to 10 goalies at each level, and cut off registration when full.

Registration Fee $200.

IMPORTANT
We ask that you do not request a particular team or player placement. We will however accommodate families and place siblings on the same team.

Also, if you have siblings in different levels, we will place them on teams with the same "team name", so they can play on the same nights...that way you are not at the rink every day of the week.

We may consider placements do to ride sharing for players that live approximately 50 or more miles away from LaCrescent.
