DEVELOPMENTAL HOCKEY LEAGUE
The games will consist of:
(1) 3-minute warm-up
(2) 27-minute run-time halves (teams will stay on the same ends)
(1) 1-minute intermission between halves
(1) 45 second timeout is available to each coach
Clock only stops on an injury or time-out (clock may stop briefly to put up penalty time on the board)
Most USA Hockey Rules will govern play… some additions:
4 PENALTY RULE-
If a player receives 4 penalties in the game, they will be done for the rest of the game after they serve their penalty.
Minor Penalty – 2:00 minutes
Major Penalty – 5:00 minutes
Check from behind – 10:00 + 2:00 minutes
Fighting – Game DQ and meeting with the league director
5 GOAL RULE-
5 goal limit per player/per game (6th or more is a face off at center ice, does not go on scoreboard)
GOALIES-
If there are 2 goalies on your team... each goalie will play one half of each game. If a goalie misses a game, they do not make it up by playing extra the next game. Also, skating out the other half of the game is not an option, due to the number of players on your team. The mite level only has 3 goalies registered, 2 teams do not have a registered goalie. You can do one of two things, suit one player up for the game, or rotate a regular player in each shift.
TRADING PLAYERS-
Switching of teams may occur.
CHECKING-
Body contact is permitted in Peewees and Bantams, remind your players that this is an individual development league, excessive, needless body contact will not be tolerated. We don’t want them to shy away from contact, but at the same time, this is summer league and we do not need them to play foolishly with their body. Please remember that there are Peewee players that are new to checking, and will be learning this aspect of the game. Also, there is a large range of age in Bantams…Please advise your older more advanced players to use discretion on the younger, less advanced players we considering body contact during play.
NO ICING RULE-
No Icing in the Mite level.
PHS CUP RULES

...if still tied

(players that have scored a goal during the game may not participate in the shoot-out)
