The Perugia Grifos are proud to announce the return of the highly successful U10/U11

Boys and Girls Grifoni Program, as well as the extremely popular Pre-SYL for 2010. Last year over 175

boys and girls competed for acceptance into the U10/U11 Grifoni program, which resulted in 30 of the

most talented 10 and 11 year old players coming together to train and compete in our area. At the Pre-

SYL (U12) age level, another 30 players trained and will help represent the first U13 SYL team coming

from the SYL developmental program in 2010. These highly successful programs have provided an

insight into the Perugia club, training methods and structure. We can't be more excited to once again

offer these two great programs for both boys and girls and look to see your son and daughter join us this

summer!

 

The primary focus of the Grifoni program is to offer technical training and a fundamental game

awareness to young players who begin to show a strong physical and psychological aptitude for the

game. Our administrative structure will oversee the operations of the team while our USL Super Y

technical staff will ensure appropriate and successful soccer teaching methods are being applied.

 

Grifoni Cost: There is no cost for U10/U11 Grifoni Program

(Uniforms, registration, training, fields are all free)

 

U12 Pre-SYL Cost: $275.00 (Registration are included June-August 2 x a week)

Age Group: born on or after Grifoni - 8/1/98-7/31/99, Pre-SYL -8/1/97-7/31/98

Can I still play with my current club team: Yes we expect you too. The program is designed to

enhance opportunities for the player.

 

When do Grifo teams begin: Grifo teams begin officially at age U12, SYL teams begin at U13.

Is the program designed to recruit players: No, it is intended to introduce players to our

technical programs, and offers a glimpse of the Grifo system. We believe that families have the

right to explore all opportunities available, and what works best for them. There are many fine

programs, we look to enhance your child's soccer experience at what ever level you choose. At

no time is there pressure or will you be forced to make a decision.

 

How many players will be selected and where do you train: There will be 20 boys and 20 girls

selected for the Grifoni program, and up to 25 selected for each of the Pre-SYL training teams

(boys and girls). Training locations will be determined by the demographics of the team.

• When do the groups train: During the Spring the Grifoni's will train 1 time a week not to

interfere with your club team, after May we will move to 2 and possibly 3 times a week. The

Pre-SYL groups will train twice a week starting in June.

Matches and Tournaments: Matches will be scheduled for each group.
