Pirates capture eighth seed

A night after A Peine Legal qualified for post-season play this season, the Pirates did the same by defeating the ninth place Roseville Rotties 6-1 in their qualifying match this evening.  The Pirates win puts the eighth placed team into the eighth playoff spot to face the Puck Hogs in Round 1 of the Winter 2007 playoffs.

With completion of the qualification round, all playoff seeds are set to get the playoffs underway on Sunday March 9.  The two teams that did not qualify for the playoffs - the Foothill Flyers and Roseville Rotties - will play a consolation game on the same night.
