Each empty ink cartridges that you might have at home or not working cell phone please take it to your coach and the club will get a donation back. Which will go towards scholarships, equipment and more.Tom and Jill Verbridge, Fundraising Coordinators.
There are over 150 million retired cell phones in the U.S., with that number expected to grow to 500 million by 2005 without aggressive recycling and manufacturing reuse programs.

Only 5% of the retired cell phones are currently being recycled.

There are over 1.2 Billion cartridges sold in the U.S. every year with less than 20% currently being recycled.

Less than 15% of ink jet cartridges are currently being recycled.



Phones that have no value are donated to 911 programs
and returned to programs
that need
911 capability phones like low income seniors and domestic abuse.

Damaged phones will be recycled

Over 100 ink jet cartridges have value.
All are accepted for collection



Recycling Facts

    • Each laser cartridge that is recycled saves 3 quarts of oil.
    • The plastics in printer cartridges can take up to 1,000 years to decompose in landfills.
    • Every year inkjet and laser cartridges account for over 200 million pounds of waste into our landfills!
    • If every cartridge was recycled it would save over 200 million gallons of oil.

      Americans retire over 150 Million cell phones each year and only recycle 5% cell Phones contain PBT"s
      (Persistent Toxins), such as lead and cadmium that linger in the soil & ground-water, when put in landfills.

There are a LOT of old cell phones and cartridges that can be recycled and the numbers continue to grow as we continue to use these items and NOT recycle them!!
