THE NEW SEASON

HI THERE SACHEM PLAYERS --- I HOPE YOU ARE ALL  EINJOYING YOURSELVES.  I KNOW IT HAS BEEN A ROUGH START FOR SOME OF YOU,  BUT HANG IN THERE.  IT WILL GET BETTER.  IN FACT, I SEE SOME TEAMS THAT WON THEIR  MOST RECENT GAMES THAT THEY HAD PLAYED ALREADY. CONGRATS TO YOU GUYS FOR WORKING HARD AND PLAYING HARD AND NOT GIVING UP.  THAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ME.  AS  A COACH , AND A PARENT TO SEE SOMEONE,  TO SEE A TEAM WORK AND WORK AND NOT GIVE UP THAT'S THE EASY THING TO DO IS GIVE UP,  BUT TO KEEP TRYING HARD TO PLAY AGAINST THIS  IS TOUGH.  TEAMS MAKE YOU GUYS MUCH BETTER PEOPLE.

COACHING COORDINATOR
If there are any concerns/issues with the coach, you can contact Paul Sainsbury, our Coaching Coordinator and he will look into the situation. The coaching coordinator position is new this season and was implemented to look at concerns as they arose with coaches or players.  You can also contact  Paul @ hockeydadx2@optonline.net.  The league does want it to be about the kids having a good experience.

Mandatory
If a player either on Freshmen or Jr. Freshmen cannot make the mandatory clinic, please notify Paul.  Unfortunately, alot of times the turnout to clinics or practices is poor and the league felt it necessary to make this mandatory.  If there are any concerns/issues with the coach, you can contact Paul Sainsbury, our Coaching Coordinator and he will look into the situation.  The coaching coordinator position is new this season and was implemented to look at concerns as they arose with coaches or players.  You can also contact Harry at Bodyshop44@aol.com or Paul @ hockeydadx2@optonline.  The league does want it to be about the kids having a good experience.

What is fair????
I like that you are doing a clinic for the kids but, to say that it is MANDATORY is unreasonable....What happens if my son cant make it?  Last game, my son sat out for most of the second period, I pay the same as everyone else.(and Iam a single parent paying for 2 school teams and a house team).... One player played ALL of the first period and then played 75-80% of the second... Is that fair????  My kids have been playing hockey for almost 7 years and I dont see why the players are only changed when there is a whistle blown... Why is that? So if there isn't a whistle blown in 7-8 minutes(like there there was on Sunday night) then the line stays out all 7-8 minutes???? and then a whistle was blown in 3 minutes and the lines were changes again.... Not fair..... I dont want my son to feel like he is less of a player and less important on the TEAM then anyone else because he is a young player.... He did his job on the rink and he takes it very seariously, and he does a GREAT job...All players should be played the same amount of time..They are there to be competitive yet have fun at the same time and if they are felt to be pushed aside then I chose the wrong organzation I want my son in.... But I already paid for it and My son wants to play for Sachem to honor his cousin Danny (who played for Sachem a few few years ago and died in a car accident 8/26/07) and for Tom Herzberg (a friend of the family who played for Sachem Ice Hockey, Who died 10/23/06) This season is for them (according to my son Kyle) I really hope that the next game ALL kids play the same amount of time....
