Coach Scott McCormick's 1990 McNary Softball Team Inducted into Celtic Hall of Fame
4/22/2009

McNary High School's Hall of Fame will induct the school's 1989 baseball and 1990 softball teams May 16 at McNary.

The 1989 baseball team, coached by Vic Backlund, went 24-3 and won the state championship, defeating Wilson 3-2 in the state title game.

The 1990 softball team, coached by Scott McCormick, was the state co-champion after tying Milwaukie 7-7 in the state title game.

The festivities will start with a fundraising golf tournament — the proceeds go to the Hall of Fame — at noon at McNary Golf Course. The team scramble event costs $55, and teams should register at the school.

The banquet, which is followed by the presentation, starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the school.
