Silverback MMA was started in 2006 by Tony Orazco after meeting with some investors and laying out his dream of opening up his own gym. Tony picked the name of Silverback in conjunction with his nickname. With the help of Bobby Perez, now of 4 Oz. Fight club Silverbacks first fighters, Jose Santibanez, Daniel Pineda and George Paz were the first to fly the Silverback Colors and proved the system to be solid after showing success in the Cage. Since its inception, like other gyms and teams, fighters have come and gone. Silverback trains fighters in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Boxing and Muay Thai. In addition to Tony training the fighters, specialist in all areas have been brought in to increase the level of training and propel the fighters at Silverback to the next level. Jose Santibanez remains on the team and has proven to be a  great success in compiling a 9-2 record and signing a deal with Bellator Fighting Championship. Silverback MMA has several young fighters ready to take over in the very near future.
