About the Texas Graduate Rugby Football Club

Welcome to the Texas Graduate Rugby Football Club.  We are a team made up primarily of graduate students from various academic programs at UT and enjoy a fast-paced, competitive, and open style of rugby.  While many of us are graduate students, undergraduates or non-students are welcome to join.

We are a member of the Texas Rugby Union (TRU) and play in the Men's Division III league.  We also play two graduate student rugby tournaments each year - one in the fall at Thunderbird University in Phoenix, AZ and one in the spring at Duke University in Durham, NC.

As well as being competitive, the team emphasizes enjoyment of the game and plays a style of rugby that is exciting to watch and play.  The team is a great social avenue for those new to Austin.  We follow the philosophy that, no matter what your skill level, if you are willing to run hard and hit hard you are one of the team.  The team maintains strong relationships with its alumni network and always has well-attended alumni events in the fall and spring.
