VIRGINIA AMATEUR BASEBALL INC 
RULES
(UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED)

  
- Seven inning games unless a tie game exists after seven, nine innings maximum.
No time limit.
Games stopped during play for any reason may be made up at
 a later date starting from point of play.

 - Mercy rule of 10 runs differential after 5 innings.
 
- Free defensive substitution at the beginning of each half inning, or at a visit to the mound.
 
- Extra hitter may be used, but is not mandatory.
If the extra hitter slot cannot continue to be filled,
then an out is assessed when that batting position is due at the plate.

 - Courtesy runner may be used for catcher and/or pitcher.
Courtesy runner must be a player not currently in the batting order.

 - Home team pays umpires and furnishes baseballs.
