BEATEN BY THE FRENCH.... CANADIANS.  Well they're still French.  Snipers run ends Saturday morning with a 5-1 loss to Montreal A's and ends the World Series with a 2-2-1 record.


Seemed like the Snipers hit with thier eyes closed all week.

FLORIDA WORLD SERIES RECAP:

DAY 1:
The Snipers split day 1 of the World Series tournament.  They lost the first game against Southern Maryland 4-2.  The Snipers came back and won the second game 6-1 against the Southeastern Elite. 

DAY 2:
The Snipers won an exciting game 1 against the former defending champions Orlando Cardinals 2-1 scoring both runs in the bottom of the 9th.

The 2nd game had fireworks also with the lead going back and forth through extra innings only to end in a 5-5 tie after 11 innings against what would turn out to be the 2009 Champions, Hudson Valley.


DAY3:
The Snipers faced a tough loss today versus the Montreal A's losing 5-1.  The loss knocked the Snipers chances of making the playoffs.  The team couldn't get much going offensively and finished the tournament pitching wise giving up close to the fewest runs allowed of any team.

Snipers finished the tournamenet 2-2-1 facing all four teams that made the playoffs on their schedule. 

ATLANTIC CITY LABOR DAY CLASSIC CHAMPIONS




The Virginia Beach Snipers, playing in their 1st tournament together captured their first Championship at the Labor Day Atlantic City Classic.  The Snipers went 4-0, beating Roberto Clemente in the final 9-0. 

The Snipers beat the NJ BlueJays 15-5 (8 innings because of tap out) in the 1st game of the tournament.  The 2nd game saw the Snipers beat Roberto Clemente 13-2 (7 innings because of tap out).  The final game of the pool play saw the Snipers beat the 2008 #1 team in the country - NJ/NY Whitesox, 3-2.

Because of the best pool play record, the Snipers got a bye into the Championship Game where the Snipers shut out Roberto Clemente 9-0.
