Thunder drops Pitbulls, 20-12

The Waco Thunder handed the Lone Star Pitbulls their first loss of the season Saturday night, 20-12.

Waco High product Richard White rushed for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns, while Edmond Roberts, a former Connally Cadet, scored on an 80-yard interception return in the win.

Freddie Rollins with Wings' Coach Jon Norris
Rollins played running back for the Waco Thunder, a semi-pro football team, and is a former standout at McGregor High School and Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he was a teammate of former BattleWings' lineman Elex Reed.
In 2002 as a senior at McGregor High School in Waco, Rollins was District 21-2A co-MVP and a Super Centex selection at linebacker as well as a 1,000-yard rusher in his senior season.  At Mary Hardin-Baylor, he put up more than 1,000 yards as a sophomore in 2004 and finished his career last season falling just shy of the 1,000-yard rushing mark, but scored 13 touchdowns.

Waco Thunder Football Players Invited to Tryout at Texas Stadium
Waco Thunder is proud to announce that six Waco Thunder Football Players have been invited to an invitation only tryout at Texas Stadium, Saturday, Sept. 15. This is a huge step from the Waco Thunder organization by networking the talent from central Texas to professional football.

5/31/2007Adrian Porter Receives College Scholarship
The Waco Thunder recently announced that cornerback Adrian Porter received a scholarship to play football for the Southwestern College Moundbuilders in Kansas.

Porter had six interceptions with the Thunder this season and has a blazing 4.4 time in the 40. Porter is a local high school product out of Mexia, Texas.

Porter is the first player from the Thunder to advance to the college or professional level.
